ट्रांसफार्मर एक ऐसा उपकरण है जो वोल्टेज के लेवल को कम व अधिक करता है परंतु ट्रांसफार्मर कभी भी पावर अर्थात शक्ति को बदलता नहीं है इसलिए यह बात सदैव याद रखें कि ट्रांसफार्मर के प्राइमरी वाइंडिंग तथा द्वितीय वाइंडिंग में पावर सदैव स्थिर रहती है
