The Durga Society was founded by late pandit Ramnarayan ji Dixit.The college was started with just 56 students and now it contributing more than 3000 student of the Chhattisgarh state. Ravishankar Shukla University Raipur Chhattisgarh. College provides the facility to study in 11 subjects in arts background in bachelor degree courses and master degree in Hindi, English, Political Science, Geography and Commerce subjects. College also provids the facility of diploma in management and accounts after graduation. Durga Mahavidyalaya is recognized as research center in 8 subjects by University. Computer lab has been started in college from session 2002-03 in which PGDCA, DCA, MCM amd B.Com. with computer application courses are studying.
