The Department of Metallurgical Engineering, OP Jindal University (India’s Only Private University Dedicated to Steel Technology and Management- Promoted by Jindal Steel and Power Limited) is organizing a Five Day Online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “ADVANCED MATERIAL CHARACTERIZATION TECHNIQUES (AMCT-2022)” from Nov 7-11, 2022. The motive of this FDP is to provide knowledge on different characterization techniques and its application to various streams of Metallurgy.

Our department runs industry-ready curriculum taught by experts from industries and eminent professors of IITs which helps them to confidently face the interviews. Students have benefitted with subjects like "Introduction to Stainless Steel" in association with Jindal Stainless Limited. We have been successfully conducting this course since four consecutive years and we are thankful to JSL team for introducing this course in our curriculum.

Ms. Anusuiya Uikey, the Honorable Governor of Chhattisgarh, bestowed us with her august presence on the occasion of the 2nd convocation ceremony of O.P. Jindal University held on Monday, Oct. 11, 2022. Along with her, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Private University Regulatory Commission (CGPURC) Dr. Umesh Kumar Mishra, Chancellor of OP Jindal University and Chairperson of JSP Foundation Mrs. Shallu Jindal, Managing Director of JSP Mr. Bimlendra Jha, Executive Director of JSP Raigarh Sabyasachi Bandyopadhyay and Vice Chancellor of OP Jindal University Dr. R.D. Patidar awarded degrees to the Class of 2021 and 2022.

Ms. Uikey encouraged the youth to use their talents to help build the country. She stated that whatever you do in life, the best interests of the country should always come first. The country has high expectations of its youth, and they must live up to them.

We are proud to congratulate Mr Saharsh Pandey for being selected to pursue a 6 months long internship at Defence Metallurgical Research Laboratory (DMRL), Hyderabad. Also congratulations to Ms. Ashriya and Ms. Sneha for their selection in NML, Jamshedpur for long term Internship.

This is an incredible achievement and will help them to learn more about the research activities at leading laboratories and to explore their interests, and build their career in research.
