Abū ʿAbd Allāh Muḥammad ibn Jābir ibn Sinān al-Raqqī al-Ḥarrānī aṣ-Ṣābiʾ al-Battānī (Arabic: محمد بن جابر بن سنان البتاني‎) (Latinized as Albategnius, Albategni or Albatenius) (c. 858 – 929) was a Syrian Arab astronomer, and mathematician. He introduced a number of trigonometric relations, and his Kitāb az-Zīj was frequently quoted by many medieval astronomers, including Copernicus. Often called the "Ptolemy of the Arabs" al-Battani is perhaps the greatest and best known astronomer of the medieval Islamic world.

Calid, Kalid, or King Calid is a legendary figure in alchemy, latterly associated with the historical Khalid ibn Yazid
Khalid was said by later Islamic sources to have become an alchemist, holding that he ordered scholars from Egypt to translate into Arabic the alchemy, medicine and astronomy works of Greek and Coptic authors, and studied alchemy under a Greek monk known as Maryanos or Stephanos. These anecdotes were not factual and stem from an earlier anecdote, recorded in the work of al-Baladhuri, that Khalid was mocked for surrendering his place in the caliphal succession and was afterward occupied pursuing an impossible task. Ullmann writes that the later legend emerged due to an interpretation that Khalid's "impossible" pursuit was alchemy. The later sources attached Khalid's name to various alchemical works, including K. Firdaws al-ḥikma.[1] Medieval Latin sources later attributed a number of alchemical treatises to a certain Calid filius Jazidi.

Ala-al-Din abu al-Hasan Ali ibn Abi-Hazm al-Qarshi al-Dimashqi, known as Ibn al-Nafis, was an Arab polymath whose areas of work included medicine, surgery, physiology, anatomy, biology, Islamic studies, jurisprudence, and philosophy. He is known for being the first to describe the pulmonary circulation of the blood.

Muḥammad ibn Mūsā al-Khwārizmī, Arabized as al-Khwarizmi and formerly Latinized as Algorithmi, was a Persian polymath who produced vastly influential works in mathematics, astronomy, and geography. Around 820 CE he was appointed as the astronomer and head of the library of the House of Wisdom in Baghdad.

Ḥasan Ibn al-Haytham(Latinized as Alhazen) was a Muslim Arab mathematician, astronomer, and physicist of the Islamic Golden Age. Referred to as "the father of modern optics", he made significant contributions to the principles of optics and visual perception in particular.

Ibrahim ibn Habib ibn Sulayman ibn Samura ibn Jundab al-Fazari was an 8th-century Muslim mathematician and astronomer at the Abbasid court of the Caliph Al-Mansur. He should not to be confused with his son Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm al-Fazārī, also an astronomer. He composed various astronomical writings.
