World University of Design (WUD) is India’s first university dedicated to education in the creative domain. Established at Rajiv Gandhi Education City, Sonipat, Haryana, in 2018, it is a hub of educational institutions of eminence in India. WUD focuses on accelerating the development of design in industrial and innovation activities at the regional and national level among the students looking for
ward to getting degrees or a doctorate in art and design. In the initial year, WUD was felicitated as the "Most Emerging University" by ASSOCHAM India. It underlines the movement of design from being purely vocation-oriented to becoming academic-oriented. Apart from that, WUD also scales up the courses from being just a certification to a degree, postgraduate degrees, research, and doctoral programs. Equipped with the widest choices of design courses in India, WUD offers education in design foundation at the undergraduate to doctoral level in Design, Performing Arts, Architecture, Fashion, Communication, Visual arts, and Management. Besides these courses, WUD also offers programs in computers & design, transportation design, animation & game design, UI/UX, film & video, built environment & habitat studies, design management, art education, curatorial practice, etc. Infrastructure
The University is spread across 12 acres of land, providing students with a space to grow and blossom. The campus houses state-of-the-art imaging systems, space for workshops, Apple iMac-based CAD rooms, etc. The students can find Machine shops and Maker-rooms for prototyping, rapid prototyping, printmaking, pattern making, AR/VR Lab, garment construction, etc. The university campus boasts a library with classic books, an art & architecture literature and materials museum, and an Art gallery. For making life on campus a learning experience, the students are introduced to studio learning, fieldwork, and theory, enhancing their overall growth. Academics
