As you are aware about the importance of climate smart and digital technologies for agriculture; and our endeavour to make farming sustainable, productive, profitable, environmental friendly and attractive; we need to develop the technologies and tools. *MPKV students leave for Malaysia*

A batch of 20 students of MPKV left for Malaysia today early morning for one month International level training. They will be joining the training tomorrow at University Purra Malaysia, Selangor, Malaysia. One batch is already undergoing training at AIT, Thailand.

This batch consists of PhD students from almost all disciplines of Agriculture Science. There are 14 girls and 6 boys. Only one girl had travelled abroad earlier. In the batch, there are students from Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Tamilnadu and Madhya Pradesh. The students had one week pre-training at MPKV on Python programming, Geoinformatics, IoT and Drones. They will also have to undergo post training of two weeks in which they will be given assignment on the technologies they learned in Malaysia the output of which will result in research papers in journals of high impact factor and NAAS rating.

On the eve of departure, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) (Agriculture) Maharashtra Shri Anoop Kumar, IAS and Hon Vice Chancellor, MPKV, Dr Patil addressed the students and wished them happy journey. Shri Anoop Kumar had been to Malaysia earlier and gave very important tips to the students to discover Malaysia. He was very happy about the Progress of the CAAST-MPKV and NAHEP project of ICAR. Dr Patil indicated that the students have been selected on merit and represents various geographies of the state and out of state.

Dr Gorantiwar Director of Research and PI, CAAST told ACS about the emphasis of the CAAST-MPKV on capacity building component of students and faculty.
In the beginning students gave their introduction to the ACS and thanked MPKV and NAHEP for giving them this lifetime opportunity to study abroad.

The MPKV CAAST (ICAR-NAHEP) Project successfully organized a one-day workshop on "Entrepreneurship Development through Drone Training" in Pune. The MPKV is the first Agriculture University in India to be awarded with DGCA approved RPTO. The knowledge base and infrastructure developed under ICAR-NAHEP contributed to the establishment of this RPTO and produced so far more than 100 drone pilots. Many of these pilots developed into entrepreneurs and some pilots are aspiring for establishing their own drone service centres. During this workshop, the drone pilots shared experiences with each other and with students and faculties, 45 drone pilots and 135 participants, including students, faculties, professionals from the drone industry, and others interested, participated in the workshop. MPKV CAAST also celebrated the achievement of producing the 100th drone pilot at MPKV RPTO. The Honorable Vice-Chancellor, MPKV Rahuri, made a significant commitment during the workshop, pledging to train large number of drone pilots in next 18 months through the RPTO program. The workshop also facilitated fruitful discussions about drone-related issues, potential solutions, policies, and challenges.
