To understand the issue of Istighātha, a clear and simple approach is necessary. It is not an emotional debate, but a theological matter that should be understood in the light of the Qur’an and the principles of Ahl al-Sunnah.

Allah says:
“And if, when they had wronged themselves, they had come to you and sought forgiveness from Allah, and the Messenger had sought forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah Most Accepting of repentance, Most Merciful.”

From this verse, it is understood that the close servants of Allah, by His permission, become a means of mercy.
