Appeal for Fair Treatment and Dignity of Private Teachers in Kashmir
Private school teachers in Kashmir are performing one of the most demanding yet least rewarded professions in our society. Every day, from morning till evening, they dedicate their time and energy to educating children with sincerity, commitment, and compassion. However, it is deeply unfortunate that despite their invaluable contribution, most private teachers receive a monthly salary between ₹3,000 and ₹7,000, an amount far below the standard required for a dignified livelihood.
Due to fear of losing their employment, many teachers choose to remain silent, but their silence should not be mistaken for satisfaction. It is a reflection of helplessness in the face of economic injustice. Teachers are the builders of our nation’s future; if they are not given the opportunity to build stable and secure lives for themselves, the very foundation of our education system becomes weak.
It is therefore imperative that the government and education authorities take immediate and serious measures to address this long-standing issue. Regular monitoring of private institutions, implementation of minimum wage standards, and establishment of fair employment policies are essential steps toward justice for teachers.
A teacher’s role is not just to teach—it is to guide, inspire, and shape future generations.
Such responsibility deserves respect, recognition, and fair compensation, not financial struggle.
