Under the nationwide observance of Good Governance Week (GGW) – Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore, scheduled from 19th to 25th December 2025, a distinguished and purpose-driven programme was convened on 22nd December 2025 at H/S Panzanth, Qazigund.
The event was graced by the august presence of Mr. Parvaiz Rahim, SDM Doru (JKAS), who attended as the Chief Guest and eloquently underscored the imperatives of responsive administration, participatory governance, and institutional accountability.
The programme was meticulously organized by the Revenue Department, Tehsil Qazigund, in close collaboration with the Zonal Education Officer, Qazigund, reflecting a robust inter-departmental synergy. The occasion witnessed the notable presence of all departmental heads, whose collective participation lent both gravitas and administrative coherence to the proceedings.
The initiative was emblematic of the campaign’s core ethos—decentralization of governance and citizen-centric service delivery—aimed at bridging the traditional gap between the State and the grassroots. Through deliberative engagement and symbolic outreach, the programme reaffirmed the commitment of the administration to transparency, accessibility, and inclusive development, thereby advancing the overarching objective of bringing governance closer to the people during the week-long observance.

Heartiest felicitations to Majid Yousuf Sheikh, an illustrious alumnus of Government High School Panzath, on his distinguished selection for the Ahmedabad Lions in the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) auction held yesterday. His elevation to this platform is a testament to his indefatigable discipline, prodigious athletic prowess, and resolute commitment to self-mastery.

A scholar-athlete of exceptional refinement, Majid consistently embodied intellectual acuity and sporting virtuosity throughout his tenure at our institution from 2020–2022. His state-level distinctions in both academics and sports underscore the rare multidimensional excellence he possesses—excellence that reflects the very ethos our school strives to cultivate.

Government High School Panzath has long championed a culture where academics and athletics coexist symbiotically, empowering students to excel across arenas such as cricket, chess, kabaddi (girls), volleyball, and beyond, often advancing to district, state, and now even national stages.

Majid’s remarkable achievement stands not only as a personal milestone but as a resounding affirmation of our school’s holistic educational philosophy. We extend profound congratulations to him and laud his unwavering perseverance, dignified ambition, and exemplary ascent.

Remembering Legends of Government High school Panzath

Ghulam Mohammad Rather, a paragon of pedagogical integrity and an embodiment of quiet erudition, concluded his distinguished odyssey at Government High School Panzath on 31st May 2025, after rendering uninterrupted, unwavering, and unblemished service since 2000. His presence within the scholastic ecosystem was not merely functional—it was formative, stabilizing, and profoundly edifying.

A man endowed with a remarkably equable disposition and a benevolence almost monastic in its silence, he extended assistance to innumerable students with such understated magnanimity that the true breadth of his philanthropy often remained veiled. His compassionate interventions—delivered without proclamation, vanity, or expectation—constitute one of the most sublime and enduring undercurrents of our institutional history.

His punctilious punctuality and almost ascetic commitment to duty elevated him to a standard rarely attained. He arrived at school with ritualistic consistency, seldom—if ever—succumbing to indolence or absence. His lesson plans were scholastically robust, pedagogically sophisticated, and crafted with an intellectual fastidiousness that reflected his reverence for the noble craft of teaching.

During the harshest winters, when climatic adversity dissuaded many, he unfailingly participated in winter tutorials, propelled not by obligation but by a deep-seated conviction that education must remain uninterrupted. Soft-spoken to the point of serenity, he discharged multifarious administrative and academic responsibilities with admirable composure, procedural precision, and institutional loyalty.

Even in inclement conditions—snow-laden mornings, torrential rains, or freezing winds—he reported to school to execute official responsibilities solely for the pedagogic welfare of the students. Such dedication, bordering on the exemplary, stands as a testament to his moral fibre.

An intellectual of multidisciplinary versatility, he taught Social Studies, Urdu, English, and other subjects with enviable dexterity. Despite holding a Bachelor’s degree in Arts, he was a connoisseur of the Urdu language, exhibiting linguistic mastery that commanded universal admiration among peers and pupils.

His retirement signifies not merely the cessation of service but the conclusion of a pedagogical epoch—an era marked by quiet excellence, unassuming brilliance, and a generosity that operated in profound silence.

As we commemorate this venerable educator, we invite every student, colleague, and admirer to contemplate:

How do you remember your teacher—what indelible impression, subtle gesture, or transformative lesson from him continues to resonate within you even today?
