The school was given the name of Rama Varma XV (27/12/1852-1932) (Raja Rama Varma) also known as Rajarshi. He was an efficient ruler and remarkable reformer of cochin state. He was enthroned as Maharaja on 23-10-1895 and abdicated in 1914. His son Late Rao Sahib I.N. Menon allowed starting an upper primary school at Vadavucode. At that time he was the Director of Public Instructions of Cochin State.He was a king among scholars and a scholar among kings. He was a revolutionary in several aspects. The British government had honoured him with titles like KCSI, GCSI and GCIE. He was known as the Ozhinja Valiya Thampuran because he abdicted the throne due to differences with British rulers.The initiator and the founder of Rajarshi Memmorial Higher Secondery School was late sri K P ABRAHAM. He was the first manager of the school.The ownership of the school was handed overs to Catholicate and M D Schools corporate management in the year 1989. Location
