Children with Special Needs and Their Peers at Ummeed Day Care Centre, Pushkar, demonstrated the true strength of democracy through their Child Parliament meeting.
Pushkar, 22 August 2026: A Child Parliament meeting was organized at Ummeed Pushkar(A Unit of Rajasthan Mahila Kalyan Mandal Ajmer)The meeting provided children with an opportunity to actively participate in democratic decision-making, discuss issues related to their school and take collective decisions through discussion and consensus.
The children actively discussed school-related issues and took important decisions through a democratic process. In a significant step towards equal representation, Priyanka was unanimously welcomed as the first girl member of the Child Parliament.
Prem was also given the responsibility of the new Sports Minister, while the members wished the previous Sports Minister, Parmeshwar, a speedy recovery.
Geeta Sagar Foundation, Ajmer also distributed educational reference books and workbooks for children and school staff.
By giving children a platform to express their opinions, make decisions and take responsibility, the Child Parliament is helping nurture confident, responsible and empowered young citizens.
