Thanks to the unwavering dedication of our teachers and the invaluable support from the Nanritam family, our brilliant students have once again excelled!

Filix is raising a mathematician
Soumili Kundu balances her equations right at All Girls Math Nurture Camp 2023

Filix does it again! This time Soumili Kundu, a student of Grade 8, stood out in the national level Math examination and claimed her fair share in the top 100 candidates for the prestigious All Girls Math Nurture Camp 2023 organised by Raising a Mathematician Foundation in collaboration with Azim Premji University.

A journey that began from a classroom in Filix School of Education to the All Girls Math Nurture Camp is a testament to Soumili's passion for Mathematics. We congratulate her class coordinator and Math teacher Mr. Sandip Bhakat on the excellent job he has been doing with all his students.

Soumili will be among the privileged 100 participants who will be trained by experts of the discipline and provided support in Mathematics through her educational journey. Soumili's selection for this esteemed camp is not just an individual triumph but a collective achievement for Filix School of Education. It reflects the dedication of our teachers, the nurturing environment Filix provides, and the commitment of our students to scale greater heights. In the face of thousands of talented participants, Soumili's success shines, highlighting the potential that lies within the tiny hamlet tucked away in the remote corner away from the privileged metropolises.

As Soumili embarks on this journey, Filix extends the warmest congratulations for her outstanding efforts. The All Girls Math Nurture Camp is not just an event; it is an opportunity for Soumili to delve deeper into the realm of mathematics, guided by experts in the field. A 7-day online workshop and three months of further nurturing await her, and we are confident that she will make the most of this invaluable experience.

In the corridors of Filix School of Education, Soumili's success is not just a moment of joy; it is a source of inspiration for every student dreaming big. We look forward to witnessing the continued brilliance of our students and the countless accomplishments that await them.

In November 2021, Nanritam (a nonprofit social sector organization) launched a community outreach education program, Education for All’’ (foundational curriculum for Literacy and Numeracy for 3- to 8-year-olds). The objective of this initiative is to build a foundational skill in literacy and numeracy for the pre-primary and primary students, particularly in the remote rural and economically underprivileged communities. The timing of the launch was inspired by the acute need created by the long school closures due to Covid, during which the historical gap, in foundational education in these remote parts, was further deepened due to economic and digital divide. The curriculum, content and the pedagogy of the program is based on the well research and proprietary body of knowledge of Nanritam’s existing education arm, Filix School of Education. An integrated curriculum, content and two world class colorful books on English literacy and Numeracy (Bengali language), were prepared and distributed free of cost to the participating schools. The objective of the program is not to be an alternative for the formal school curriculum, rather a complementary to strengthen the foundation that would further help to excel through standard school education.
