What if the expanding green economy could help everyone in a supply chain?

Circular supply chains have made it feasible to achieve the seemingly unattainable.

A circular supply chain, as the name implies, is a concept where the producers or sellers of a product take the used product and reuse or recycle it for other and/or similar use in the future.

The concept of having a closed loop system in a supply chain arose out of the need to combat the growing wastage problem and its negative impact on the environment.

One of the best examples of large global companies coming together to support the circular supply chain is the InBev 100+ Accelerator.

Team OpCellence - The Operations Club of SIBM Pune is delighted to announce the successful conclusion of SAMVAAD - The Supply Chain Conclave.

The first keynote address was by Mr. Vineet Parwal - Vice President Supply Chain and Operations at SleepyCat. The session was on the topic “Technology in e-commerce” and revolved around how the industry operates, customisation of apps, and utilization of search engine optimization to advertise and practices at top e-commerce firms.

The second session was a fireside chat on the topic “How the pandemic has accelerated analytics and process automation” moderated by Mr. Tejpal Singh Battra - Co-founder and President at iGiftLife and visiting faculty at SIBM Pune, featuring Mr. Saptarshi Sarkar - Program Manager at Amazon and Mr. Kungumaraj Mohan - National Manager Commercial Analytics at HCCB Pvt. Ltd. The session touched upon the effect of the pandemic on their industries, how the pandemic offered opportunities for smaller firms to partner up with the biggest 3PL firms to strengthen their operations, and how innovation and agility at their firms helped them to design risk mitigation strategies.

The final keynote speaker for the conclave was Mr. Sandeep A - Senior Management Consultant at ABB. The session was about “How the industry is changing with supply chain digitization and analytics.” The session revolved around different strategies and approaches towards digitization and the benefits of the same. Digitization in product development, ERP systems and process mining were some of the focus areas of the talk.

Team OpCellence is grateful to have hosted the esteemed speakers and their insights on various aspects of supply chain management will be valuable to the students in a world so susceptible to disruptions.

Team OpCellence is delighted to have hosted Ms. Uma Iyer, Consultant, Cerebrum Digital, former Associate Director at IBM India as the guest speaker for our Leadership Talk Series - OpsTalk.

We would like to thank Ms. Uma Iyer for addressing the students at SIBM Pune. The insightful session started off with understanding the importance of service industry in the economy and the industrial evolutions. Ms. Iyer gave an overview of various IT services. She explained the service delivery framework, IT support services and different areas of application development. The hand-on activity conducted enabled the students to understand the application of service topics in real life.

Team OpCellence is honoured to have conducted Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification programme for SIBM Pune students in association with KPMG India.

The sessions were conducted by Mr Swapnil Rach, Master Black Belt and Lean Six Sigma Consultant and Trainer at KPMG India. Mr Rach's vast experience across fields and relevant examples throughout the course helped students comprehend the topics covered in an effective way.

In the five day workshop, the students gained immense value through applications of Lean and Six Sigma across business domains. The students will be eager to apply the concepts of Lean Six Sigma in their careers.

We are grateful to Mr. Swapnil Rach and KPMG India for providing the students with the opportunity.
