CHRIST ABOLISHED THE SABBATH?

Early in Christ’s ministry, we find that He taught on the Sabbath day (Mark 1:21; 6:2; Luke 4:31; 13:10). In fact, Luke 4:16 says this was His custom! Mark 2:27-28 say, “And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.” Jesus Christ, the Scriptures reveal, is the Lord of the Sabbath. He made it for you and me!

The word Sabbath or Sabbaths is mentioned 172 times throughout the Bible; 60 of these are found in the New Testament. If Christ had changed the Sabbath day to Sunday, surely He or the apostles who followed in His steps would have explained the change.

Acts 13:14-15 show that the Apostle Paul was teaching in the synagogue on the Sabbath many years after Christ died. In verse 42, after Paul’s Sabbath sermon, many of the Jews who heard him became offended and left. But notice, “the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.” The Gentiles, those who had no prior knowledge of Sabbath observance, asked if Paul could come back the next Sabbath.

Notice what happened: “And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God” (verse 44). Why didn’t the Gentiles ask him to come back on the following Sunday? Because Paul, like Christ, kept the Sabbath.

Notice Acts 17:2: “And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures.” This is now 20 years after Christ died, and we see that it was still Paul’s custom to keep the Sabbath, just as it was Christ’s custom (Luke 4:16).

Over 10 years later, Paul wrote the epistle to the Hebrews. In the first few verses of chapter 4, after discussing the spiritual “rest” this world will enjoy after Jesus Christ returns, Paul then explains how our weekly Sabbath observance pictures that millennial rest. “There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God,” Paul wrote (verse 9). The Greek word for rest is sabbatismos, which simply means “keeping of the Sabbath.” Most Bible margins even point this out.

Had the seventh-day Sabbath been changed to Sunday, wouldn’t Paul have explained this to, of all people, the Hebrews in Judea? Instead, Paul reminded them that their weekly Sabbath observance was a very type of the millennial rest to come upon the entire world.

Then those who feared the LORD talked with each other, and the LORD listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the LORD and honored his name.

Beloved, it was not that easy for Abraham to leave his own relatives, and go where he don't know. Sometimes God comes to us in form of rejection, rejected by friends, rejected by families rejected by people what a painful experience of life were life seems ending. Family was Abraham's Comfort Zone, God remove Abraham in Comfort zone in order to bless him. Israel has to come out of Comfort zone Egypt for God to walk with them in life, out of comfort zone miracles are performed, God provides food, water security that is enough for all who left their Comfort zone, we sometimes cry when we leave the Comfort Zone, but the blessings ahead is far more greater. Out of the comfort zone we have to walk with God and learn to trust God. Have a blessed Sabbath day ahead

God's Last Minute Call To The People.

It has been said that human beings we need to worship something. What we worship today, .. well that's a different matter; however it is one fraught with exceedingly important consequences especially in this last days when two groups of worshippers are made manifest: those who worship God the Creator on His Sabbath day, and those who worship the beast and his image on his Sunday. Yet the seeds for that contrast can be seen early in the Bible, in the story of Cain and Abel, this two kinds of worshippers appear, one worshipping the true God the way He commanded, and another one engaging in a false kind of worship that contrary to God's commandments. One is acceptable to God, and another one is rejected. After the fall of man, many elements that certainly were not there before suddenly appeared.

Just like that, in the moment of disobedience, the entire moral fabric of these beings changed. Instead of love, trust and adoration, the hearts of Adam and Eve were now filled with fear, guilty and shame. Instead of desiring His holy presence, they hide from Him. For them, their relationship with God, which surely impacted how they worshipped Him, had been shattered. The close and intimate communion with God, which they once had enjoyed, Gen 3:8). When God came to them, they hid themselves from His presence. So full were they of shame, guilty even fear, they fled from the One who had created them. In the very same way today majority fled from the One who had created them by choosing themselves to keep Sunday instead of the Sabbath that comes from God, this is the reason of what sin did, and still does to worshippers of the last days.

Cain and Abel today represent two classes of worshippers that have existed since the fall. Rev 14 the judgment message of the end times comes with an appeal to worship the Creator God. The antidote to the evolutionist theories, the antidote of Sunday worship, are the chief reason why 3 angels call us to worship the Creator God because He created us. We are His by virtue of His having made us in His image, Sabbath is the sign of God to His worshippers. The world turned traitor in rebelling against God's government through keeping Sunday. The reason of the angle to calling for us to come back to the Creator God it's because people are already worshipping the beast, and rejecting the true Sabbath that the Scriptures reviewed from Gen to Rev. The Gospel opened the way.

The judgment determined if we follow in that way, and our whole hearted, response is shown by worship of the Creator God, Psalms 95:6-11, Hebrews 3). In the center of creation this much undeniably include the worship of the Creator on the day He set aside as a memorial of creation when He ended His work which He had made, when He rested and blessed the seventh day and sanctified it. God rested to set example to the universe that those who need to be called by God's name are the one who follow God in resting on the seventh day that is the Sabbath. Sabbath is a special day to put all secular business on hold and spend it with Christ, this is a day to worship Him in spirit and in truth. A day to find renewal in Him for the conflicts and responsibilities ahead.

This is a day to remember God our Creator! To claims the freedom to worship the way we wants as if we are the one offering any gift of our choice like Cain is to put ourselves in the level of God, or is to put ourselves on God's throne. God still saying, give me the seventh day Sabbath, but majority answering God by saying, pardon me Sir, we are now free to worship our own way, just count yourself lucky if we still give you an hour or so on Sunday. That dear friends is what constitutes the mark of rebellion. Rebellion is when we know exactly that the Lord wants a date with us on the seventh day of each week, but we refuse and told God that Sunday still the good date for the meeting: Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of judgment have come. Hebrews 3:15 This is what the scripture says: “If you hear God's voice today, do not be stubborn, as your ancestors were when they rebelled against God.”

Everyone in this world wants to be loved and treated nicely. It is unlikely to find someone who will say no if they are asked the question, “Do you want to be treated nicely?” However, we can bear witness to the fact that sometimes we are not treated nicely by others; likewise we also find ourselves treating others harshly or badly, or we find someone treating others badly or being treated badly. The fundamental truth is that we cannot give what we don’t have or have not received. As a child of God, the love of God has been poured into your heart so you can treat people with kindness (Romans 5:5). Remember that you reap what you sow, therefore whatever you do to others will also be done to you. Choose to treat people nicely and to do good, and people will love you and treat you with kindness as well. Remember also that you cannot do it through your own effort or wisdom but only by the power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 10:38). Therefore cooperate with the Holy Spirit through the Word of God, and He will teach and lead you to treat people nicely.
