Inaugural Ceremony & Chief Guest Session
CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, organized an Inaugural Ceremony and Chief Guest Session on 11 August 2026 at the Central Block Auditorium to welcome students from B.Sc. Psychology, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science and Data Science, BCA, and M.Sc. Data Science.
The programme began with a campus introduction, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and a multi-faith prayer session featuring readings from the Bhagavad Gita, Holy Quran, and Holy Bible. Reflections and intercessory prayers further emphasized the values of inclusivity, compassion, and ethical responsibility.
In his welcome address, Fr. Dr. Lijo Thomas, Director, encouraged students to approach their academic journey with discipline, integrity, and scientific curiosity.
The Chief Guest, Mr. John Thomas, Vice President, Bajaj General Insurance, shared insightful perspectives on the evolving convergence of computer science, data analytics, economics, and psychology in the modern business environment. He encouraged students to remain adaptable, proactive, and committed to continuous learning.
The programme also featured departmental briefings and academic guidance to help students navigate their transition into university life. The session concluded with a vote of thanks, leaving the new cohort inspired and prepared to begin their academic journey with confidence and purpose.

Prarambh 2026 | Inaugural Ceremony for the New Cohort
The School of Business and Management (BBA & MBA), CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, organized Prarambh 2026 on 10 August 2026 to formally welcome the incoming batch for the academic year 2026–27.
The inaugural ceremony brought together students, parents, faculty members, and distinguished guests to celebrate the beginning of a new academic chapter. The programme was graced by Mr. Sanjeev Nimkar, RR PARKON (RR Global Group), as the Chief Guest.
In his keynote address, Mr. Nimkar encouraged students to embrace lifelong learning, uphold ethical values, develop resilience, and remain adaptable in an evolving business landscape. He also emphasized the importance of innovation, leadership, and continuous self-development in shaping successful and meaningful careers.
The programme introduced the new cohort to the University's academic framework, experiential learning opportunities, research culture, and holistic approach to student development. Faculty members welcomed the students and highlighted the importance of discipline, collaboration, and social responsibility throughout their academic journey.

FDP on Analytics-Enabled Management Education
The School of Business and Management – BBA and School of Business and Management – MBA, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, will organize a Faculty Development Programme on “Analytics-Enabled Management Education” from 27 July to 1 August 2026.
The FDP will be facilitated by Mr. Yogesh P. Murumkar and will focus on the growing role of analytics and data-driven approaches in contemporary management education. The programme will provide faculty members with an opportunity to explore analytical tools and methodologies that can support effective teaching, informed decision-making, and improved academic outcomes.
The sessions will encourage educators to integrate data-driven thinking into management classrooms while exploring innovative approaches to teaching and learning. The programme will also provide a platform for professional learning, knowledge exchange, and academic collaboration.
By strengthening faculty capabilities in analytics-enabled education, the FDP will contribute towards developing a future-ready management education ecosystem that responds effectively to the evolving demands of business, technology, and industry.

Faculty Development Programme on Sustainable Development Goals Through the Lens of Legal Research
The School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, organized a five-day Faculty Development Programme on “Sustainable Development Goals Through the Lens of Legal Research” from 27–31 July 2026 at the Smart Room, Central Block.
The programme featured sessions by distinguished resource persons, including Dr. Abhijit Rohi and Dr. Amit Kumar, Assistant Professors of Law at MNLU Mumbai, and Dr. Prateeksha, Scientific Editor at Elsevier.
The FDP focused on exploring the relationship between legal research and the Sustainable Development Goals, providing participants with insights into contemporary research approaches and the role of legal scholarship in responding to complex societal and global challenges.
Through expert-led sessions, academic discussions, and knowledge-sharing, the programme encouraged faculty members to strengthen their research perspectives and explore interdisciplinary approaches to sustainable development.

The Centre for Artificial Intelligence (CAI), in collaboration with the School of Sciences and the Departments of Computer Science and Statistics & Data Science, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, will organize a Faculty Development Programme on “Agentic AI & Data Analytics for Academicians.”
The programme will provide faculty members with opportunities to explore the growing role of Artificial Intelligence and data analytics in higher education. Participants will engage with practical applications of AI in teaching, lesson planning, assessment design, research, content creation, and academic workflow automation.
With Generative AI and Large Language Models rapidly transforming educational practices, the FDP will also focus on developing an understanding of Responsible AI. Key principles including fairness, transparency, privacy, accountability, and ethical decision-making will form an important part of the learning experience.
The programme will combine technical learning with responsible innovation, enabling educators to explore emerging technologies while maintaining academic integrity and ethical standards. It will contribute towards building a future-ready academic environment where technology is used meaningfully to enhance teaching effectiveness, productivity, and student learning outcomes.

Six-Day Faculty Development Program 2026
The Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, organized a Six-day Faculty Development Program from 20 to 25 July 2026.
The programme brought together faculty members for an enriching learning experience focused on academic quality assurance, institutional compliance, accreditation processes, Strategic Action Plan (SAP), research orientation, leadership development, entrepreneurial thinking, and psychometric assessments. Sessions were facilitated by experienced academic leaders, quality assurance experts from CHRIST University, and distinguished external resource persons.
Through interactive workshops, discussions, and practical learning activities, participants gained valuable insights into enhancing institutional effectiveness, strengthening academic processes, and fostering a culture of continuous quality improvement.

The Department of English and Cultural Studies, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, organized a two-day Faculty Development Programme on “Alternative Pedagogies for the 21st Century Humanities Classroom” on 15–16 June 2026.

Faculty Capacity Building Workshop on Strengthening Teaching-Learning Excellence
The Teaching Learning Enhancement Cell (TLEC), in collaboration with the Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, organized a Two-Day Faculty Capacity Building Workshop on “Strengthening Teaching-Learning Excellence through Constructive Alignment, Learner-Centred Approaches, and Authentic Assessment” on 17–18 June 2026.
The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Maya M, TLEC Coordinator, and Dr. Manoj B, TLEC Core Member, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru. The programme focused on strengthening faculty competencies in outcome-based education, constructive alignment, learner-centred pedagogies, classroom observation practices, and authentic assessment design.
The first day was dedicated to Master Trainers, while the second day engaged faculty members from across the campus in meaningful discussions and hands-on learning experiences. The sessions encouraged reflective teaching practices and highlighted innovative approaches to improving student learning outcomes.

The Office of International Affairs, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, organized an International Experience Sharing Session on 16 June 2026 at the Banquet Hall, Central Block.
The session brought together students and faculty members to hear the experiences and insights of Dr. David Joseph, Assistant Professor, School of Commerce; Dr. Fr. Lijo Thomas, Dean & Director; and Prof. Kalpesh Patkar, Assistant Professor, School of Law.
