2. In my heart is His form, which I will not forget for a moment, because the dark-complexioned idol of that Vithoba is the life of my soul.
3. If I forget Hari for a moment, millions of benefits will be lost.
4. Tuka says: The feet of my Vithoba are like a life-giving force in my heart. If those feet were not in my heart, I would not be able to live.

Translation
1. Sacks of sugar are on the bull's back, but the bull doesn't get to eat the sugar; in the end, it only gets to eat fodder.
2. A camel carries valuable goods in boxes on its back, but it doesn't benefit from those goods. It only gets thorns to eat.
3. In the same way, people carry the burden of supporting their wives and children, increasing their desire for wealth and their business efforts in vain. But in the end, their own wives, children, and others hand them over to Yama - the god of death.
4. Only those who have tasted sugar know its sweetness, but the poor bull or camel, who merely carry the load, tire themselves out for nothing. Similarly, some people in worldly life work hard to earn money and other things, but those who earned them don't get to enjoy them; someone else benefits from it, and they are left with only the futile exhaustion of earning and protecting that wealth.
5. Tuka says: Oh fool, become wise. Don't go through the cycle of eighty-four lakh births (referring to reincarnation) due to foolishness.

Translation
1. A tree is born from a seed, and at the end of the tree, or from the tree itself, a seed is born.
2. Similarly, God, my functional existence (my being as a created entity) was born from Your causal existence (Your being as the Creator). And at the time of dissolution (pralaya), my existence merges back into Yours. When we consider the true nature, we both are completely merged into each other.
3. Just as waves that appear on water are essentially the nature of the water itself, we both are like waves on pure Brahman (the ultimate reality). Therefore, we both are of the nature of Brahman.
4. Tuka says: Just as when a mirror is removed, both the quality of being an original image and the quality of being a reflection disappear into one face, similarly, the qualities of being an individual soul (Jiva) and being God (Ishvara) disappear into pure Brahman as soon as ignorance (avidya) is destroyed.

3. Tuka says: O base and contemptible fellow, have some shame at least now.
Such a one should be driven away at once, kicked out swiftly with the tip of a shoe’s heel.

Translation
1. If the knowledge of Brahman were to be grasped so easily and instantly, then why would the Vedas and Shastras have to labor so much over it?
2. The disputes of the scriptures, austerities, and pilgrimages to sacred places—all of this exists for that very purpose alone.
3. For that same purpose there is repetition of the Name and the practice of penance; even Vyasa composed those vast bodies of scripture for this very reason.
4. Tuka says: Therefore, one must serve the feet of the saints—only then can one cross over the ocean of worldly existence.
