IUCAA and NCRA-TIFR Radio Astronomy Winter School 2021
We are pleased to announce that the Radio Astronomy Winter School 2021 will be held online from 20th December 2021 to 1st January 2022. As was the case last year, both faculty members of colleges and universities are welcome to apply. Each selected faculty member will be assigned as a mentor to a group of four to five students. This would give an opportunity for the students to interact with the selected faculty members in addition to interacting with the faculty and staff of IUCAA and NCRA-TIFR.
You can find out more about the School from our website

Radio Astronomy Winter School (RAWS) 2020
We are pleased to invite applications for the 13th Radio Astronomy Winter School (RAWS 2020) to be held from the 28th of December 2020 to the 9th of January 2021. This is being organized jointly by IUCAA and NCRA-TIFR. Due to the prevailing pandemic, RAWS 2020 will be an online school where teacher mentors and students from 2nd and 3rd year of B.S./B.Sc./B.E./B.Tech/integrated M.S./integrated M.Sc. will work together in small teams on the following activities: (i) doing simple hands-on radio astronomy-related experiments at home using material available at home; (ii) playing around with data from the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope and Ooty Radio Telescope to understand basic concepts of radio astronomy; and participating in a set of lectures on radio astronomy. The application form is available at
http://bit.ly/TLC-RAWS2020
the deadline for applications being the 15th of December 2020.
Student applicants are required to ensure that the online
recommendation forms available via the link
https://bit.ly/Recommend-RAWS2020
are also submitted by their teachers within the deadline. Any
queries may be emailed to [email protected]
Could we request you to bring this to the attention of those who may be interested? Thank you very much. Have tagged my friends and colleagues from IUCAA TLC and NCRA who are organizing it, as well as those in other institutions to spread the word.
