We are proud to celebrate the achievement of our student! 🎉

Congratulations to Gayatri Muzumdar, Intern at BVDU SOPT, for securing 🥉 3rd Prize in the UG category at Physiosetu 2026, a National Level Conference organized by D. Y. Patil College of Physiotherapy, Kolhapur.

She presented her research paper titled “Injury Patterns and Risk Factors in Adolescent Football Players” on 9th April 2026. Competing and excelling at a national platform is a remarkable accomplishment.

Such achievements reflect the spirit of academic excellence and dedication we nurture at BVDU SOPT. We are proud of her contribution towards evidence-based physiotherapy and sports injury research.

Two faculty members from BVDU School of Physiotherapy, Pune were invited as speakers at the 2nd International Tele Neuro Rehabilitation Conference (ITNRCON) held at The Westin, Mumbai from 9th–12th April 2026.

🔹 Dr. Janhavi Atre, Assistant Professor, delivered a talk on “Tele Neuro Rehabilitation in India: Current Trends, Evidence and Clinical Implications” on 9th April 2026.

🔹 Dr. Chetana Kunde, Professor, presented on “Need for a Community-Based Physiotherapy Early Intervention Model: Bridging the Gap in Low-Income Countries” on 11th April 2026.

Both faculty members also actively participated in E-poster presentations, showcasing their work on an international platform.

✨ The 2nd ITNRCON, along with IFNRCON, was an enriching and fulfilling experience, fostering knowledge exchange and advancing the future of neurorehabilitation.

The BVDU School of Physiotherapy, Pune, actively served as physiotherapy partners during the Bharati Pulse Marathon held on 5th April 2026 at the Bharati Vidyapeeth Campus, Dhankawadi, Pune.

The event saw enthusiastic participation, with approximately 300 individuals registering across different running categories. The physiotherapy team, led by faculty members Dr. Sharayu and Dr. Sushil, delivered on-site services including assessment and management of common musculoskeletal conditions, first aid, and guidance for post-run recovery.

Around 60 participants utilized physiotherapy services during the event. Frequently observed complaints included muscle fatigue, calf cramps, hamstring tightness, ankle sprains, knee discomfort, and general post-run soreness. The timely interventions contributed to effective symptom relief and supported the overall safety of the participants. The organizers acknowledged and appreciated the dedicated efforts of the physiotherapy team in ensuring the smooth conduct of the event.

✨ Advancing Care in Multiple Sclerosis ✨

An enriching CME on “Bridging Knowledge & Clinical Practice in Multiple Sclerosis” was successfully organized by the Department of Neurology, Bharati Hospital & Research Centre, in association with the Multiple Sclerosis Society of India (MSSI) – Pune Chapter on 27th March 2026. 🧠

The session offered a comprehensive academic experience, covering key areas such as:
🔹 Evolving concepts in Multiple Sclerosis
🔹 Ocular involvement in MS
🔹 Updates in neuroimaging & diagnostic criteria
🔹 Bladder dysfunction management
🔹 Gait abnormalities & rehabilitation strategies
🔹 Speech and swallowing concerns in MS

A noteworthy contribution was the session by *Dr. Janhavi Atre*, (Assistant Professor from School of Physiotherapy) on *Gait Abnormalities and Interventions in Multiple Sclerosis* highlighting functional, patient-centered rehabilitation approaches.

👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️ With active participation from clinicians, physiotherapy interns, speech therapy interns, and students, the CME created a collaborative platform for shared learning and clinical insight.

Empowering adolescent girls through About Menstrual Hygiene and awareness 🌸

On 27th March 2026, a community camp on menstrual hygiene and awareness was successfully conducted by the dedicated interns of BVDU SOPT at Maruti Badhe Memorial School. The session focused on breaking myths, promoting healthy practices, and encouraging confidence among young girls to better understand and manage their menstrual health with Physiotherapy Practice and management.

With the active participation of 85 enthusiastic girls, the camp created a safe and engaging space for learning and discussion on an often stigmatized topic. The initiative was led by a team of 7 interns under the guidance of 1 community faculty, ensuring meaningful interaction and accurate knowledge sharing.

Small efforts like these pave the way for healthier, informed, and empowered communities 💫
