Masarrat is a leading Indian educationist and global advocate for inclusive education with 30+ years of experience in transforming how schools and communities embrace neurodiversity. She is the Co-Founder and Director of Sunderji’s Global Academia, encompassing India’s top leading special school, early intervention centre, and a vocational centre — a pioneering network dedicated to inclusive learning, early intervention, vocational empowerment, and teacher education.

Masarrat’s vision is to create learning environments where neurodivergent and neurotypical children learn, play, and grow together. Her schools operationalize inclusion through Universal Design for Learning (UDL), differentiated instruction, assistive technology, and peer mentoring, ensuring that every learner — regardless of ability — experiences dignity, success, and belonging.

A key aspect of her impact lies in teacher capacity building. In collaboration with Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital, Pune, she co-leads a Post-Graduate Diploma and Certificate Course in Autism Management accredited by Savitribai Phule Pune University. This program has trained hundreds of educators and shadow teachers across India, expanding access to quality inclusive education.

Masarrat also partners with NGOs, Rotary Clubs, corporate organizations, and schools to design inclusive events, community programs, and vocational opportunities for young adults with disabilities.

As a long-standing member and contributor to the World Forum Foundation, Masarrat shares her insights on building sustainable inclusion models that unite educators, families, and communities. Her work exemplifies how compassion, collaboration, and design-thinking can redefine education — turning
inclusion from an ideology into an everyday reality.

Maa O Shishu Hospital Maa o Shishu - মা ও শিশু , one of Bangladesh’s leading child and maternal healthcare institutions, hosted a powerful seminar on “The Evolving Landscape of Autism & Neurodiversity.” 🌟

Masarrat Tavawalla, Co-Founder & Director, Sunderji’s Global Academia, delivered the keynote session — sharing global insights on ASD diagnostics, adolescent brain development, inclusion after 18, and strategies that balance medication, independence, and empathy. 💬

The seminar was organized under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Arzu, Director, Autism & Child Development Centre & Head, Dept. of Paediatric Neurology, and attended by esteemed dignitaries:

🏫 Spectra School of Autism, Chattogram – an inspiring project by FARE Foundation, where structured classrooms, visual systems, and trained educators are redefining autism support.
💙 Nishpap Autism Foundation – a community-driven center focusing on empowerment, early intervention, and family support, where every child’s voice finds a place to be heard.
🌈 Frobel Play School, Dhaka – a bright, play-led environment founded and led by Huwra Tehseen Zohair, where creativity meets compassion, and inclusion starts at circle time.

They were joined by dignitaries, teachers, and early educators eager to exchange practices and ideas — from classroom setups to sensory circuits. ✨

What inspired us most? Seeing how these schools have built bridges between mainstream and special education, one visual schedule, one empathetic teacher, one joyful child at a time. 💛

Because inclusion isn’t a place — it’s a mindset that travels wherever we go. 🌍

If you thought teachers only grade papers, wait till you see them ace a crazy party 🎉🤪

We went all out this Teachers’ Month — wild bonding games, inside-joke awards, and enough laughter to echo down the halls for days. From musical chaos to team challenges, every round brought out the silly, sassy, and unstoppable side of our rockstar teachers. 💃🕺

But like every good party, there were bittersweet moments too — we bid farewell to some of our team as they step into exciting new journeys, and also to the Sunderji Teachers’ Training Institute, which now transforms into a sharper training model.

Because at Sunderji, even goodbyes come with confetti, and every ending is just the start of something bigger. 🌟

We were delighted to host Nusrat Shariff, Vice Chancellor of AIPTECH, Pune – a pioneering institute with over 20 years of leagcy that is dedicated to empowering women through technical education, skill training, and leadership development through their 30+ courses. At the same time, our very own Masarrat Tavawalla visited AIPTECH, creating a true exchange of ideas, values, and vision. 🌟

Both visits were not just about understanding each other’s ecosystems but about imagining what we can build together for the future of our students. With the spirit of empowerment at the core, stay tuned — because something impactful is in the works for our Sunderji Vocational Institute. 💡

From the Roots Up | Day 1 When you hear Zarina Sunderji, our founder member, reflect on how it all began — just an idea, a spark, a space where every learner matters — you can’t help but feel it deep. So, to honour that beginning, we went back to the roots. Literally. Our NIOS Block and Sunderji Vocational Institute students — led by our very own Student Council — took the first step in our 29th Founders’ Day celebrations with a tree plantation at @anandvanpune.
