One of the best benefits by quinoa involves its protein content.( 14-18 g). Quinoa is an equally impressive food in terms of its overall significant amounts of antioxidants. Thus protect human baody from cancers, infection, aging and degenerative neurological diseases. The grains are rich source of soluble and insoluble dietary fibre. (100 g provide 7 gm). Following methods are suitable for a lose soil farm land , specially for red colour soil.

soil must allow water to drain.

water logging must be avoided.

Take 10 kg of fine sand or dried farm soil. Heat it for around 100 degree and then allow to cool. After it become cold ... real cold...room temrature... Mix 2 kg quinoa in this sand / soil. It will make 10 kg mixture. Use this for sowing 1 acre of land. Heating kills the insect, eggs, snails, snail eggs.

1. Prepare a farm bed using ROTA weeder or any other technique according to hardness of your farm land.

2. soften with water if very hard and then prepare farm bed .

3. Sowing to be done in traditional way in order to ensure that seed should not go deep in soil

seed should not be deeper than 1.25 cm in soil.

4. If you use tractor , u must ensure the tractor setting accordingly

5. row distance must be 30 cm to 45 cm .

6. apply heavy irrigation ( 3 hours of Sprinkler ) immediately after sowing or DRIP irrigation ( Time duration for drip you decide please ).

7. irrigation must be done after every 3 days or need to adjust this period, bottom line is root area must be moist always.

8. germination will be visible after 2 days.

9. Total UREA or any organic 'N' content fertilizer to be applied 80 kg per acre. ( or as per your land N content ).

10. apply UREA or any organic 'N' content fertilizer after 8 to 10 days and 35 days ( 40 kg each ).

11. Thinning must be done afte15 days . keep 10 CM distance between plant

12. seed head would appear after 20 days .

13. plant growth will be very slow for 4 weeks.

14. growth will be rapid after 30 days.

15. STOP sprinkle after 45 days and start ground irrigation or DRIP irrigation in order to save the seed from on plant germination also to avoid impact on seed colour.

16. at this stage ( after 50 days ) plant will start bending down due to its own weight.

17. you need to support the plant with stick or any other suitable method.

18. DO NOT SPRAY ANY CHEMICAL. NOT ALLOWD FOR QUINOA AS NOBODY WILL BUY THIS.

19. I did not observe any insect attack or any disease. If you find any , please use any organic method to fight it out.

20. from 70th day , plant will start showing signs of maturity by changing it leaf colour and seed head colour.

21. it will start showing vibrant colour on seed head and yellow leaves.

22. Stop irrigation on 84th day.

23. Cut the plant on or around 90th day.

24. let it dry on the farm for 3/4 days.

25. Collect and put it under thrasher. or use the method of biting with sticks in order to separate the seeds.

26. Use the winnowing method.

27. Separate the seeds.

28. Dry the seeds for few more days before storing.

29. keep on drying in sunlight after every 2 months if need to store for longer duration.

QUINOA Indian recipe basics. As enquired by some members.

1.wash quinoa 2 to 3 times
2. Soack for 2 hours
3. Pressure cook 1 cup quinoa 2 cup water. OR boil for 15 minutes.

Now you have the nicely boiled quinoa ready for making anything. Some are mentioned below.

A. Sweet kheer -> by adding quinoa in a boiled sweet milk , dry fruit and little ghee.

B. Pulav -> use boiled quinoa as a replacement for rice and make pulao.

C. Buryani -> same method.

D. Quinoa khichadi -> just like sabudana khichadi

E. ADD BOILED QUINOA IN ANY SOUP.

F. ADD BOILED QUINOA IN ANY SALAD

G. BOILED QUINOA AND DAL

F. Quinoa UPAMA

G. ADD QUINOA POWDER IN DOSA BATTER

H. ADD QUINOA FLOOR IN WHEAT FLOOR AND ENJOY NUTRITION RICH ROTI..
