Happy to share that I had the opportunity to interact with Dr. Nina C. B. Silva, Professor, Faculty of Pharmacy, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Brazil, on 16th May 2026 at 11:30 a.m. at the International Centre, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU).

The interaction was held in the presence of Dr. Girish Tillu, AYUSH Center of Excellence, Center of Complementary and Integrative Health, Department of Health Sciences, SPPU; Dr. Asmita Wele Hon. Professor, at University of Debrecen, Hungary and Full Professor at Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Ayurved and Research Center, DPU Pune

The discussion focused on academic collaboration, research initiatives, traditional knowledge systems, and opportunities for international cooperation in the areas of health sciences and complementary medicine.

I am delighted to share that I had the privilege of interacting with His Excellency Mr. Chris Cooter, High Commissioner of Canada to India, along with Mr. Jeff David, Consul General of Canada, Mumbai, and members of the Canadian diplomatic delegation during their visit to Pune on Tuesday, 5 May 2026.

The interaction took place during the “Networking Dinner Reception” hosted on the occasion of the official visit of the Canadian delegation to Pune. The discussions were held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, focusing on strengthening higher education collaboration and exploring avenues for strategic institutional partnerships between India and Canada.

The exchange provided valuable insights into enhancing academic cooperation, joint research initiatives, student and faculty mobility, innovation-driven partnerships, and broader global engagement opportunities between institutions. It was indeed a meaningful and enriching interaction aimed at fostering stronger international academic relations.

Happy to share that we had the opportunity to interact with Ms. Vanessa Pukal, Vice Consul and Trade Commissioner, Consulate General of Canada, on Monday, 5th May 2026 at 9:30 a.m. at the Vice Chancellor’s Office, Main Building, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Suresh Gosavi, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, SPPU; ; Smt. Bageshree Manthalkar, Member, Management Council, SPPU; Shri Ravindra Shingnapurkar, Member, Management Council, SPPU; and Shri Prasenjeet Fadanvees, Senate Member, and Prof. (Dr.) Devidas Golhar, Director, Innovation, Incubation and Linkages, SPPU, SPPU.

The interaction focused on strengthening academic and international collaborations, exploring avenues for partnership, and enhancing global engagement between institutions. Ms. Pukal also visited the International Centre, SPPU, further enriching discussions on future cooperation and exchange initiatives

Happy to share that the Farewell Party of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA–IB) was organised on Tuesday, 28th April 2026 at 3:00 pm at the YC-NISDA Library Hall, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Building, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune – 411007.

The programme was graced by Air Marshal P. N. Pradhan, Chair Professor, Marshal of the Air Force Arjan Singh Chair, DDSS, SPPU; Shri Sudarshan Shetty, Regional Director, Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Pune and Dr. Shilpa Bhide, Coordinator, BBA(IB), PUMBA along with faculty members, Staff of the International Centre, and students of the BBA-IB programme.

The event marked a memorable occasion to bid farewell to the outgoing students, celebrating their academic journey, achievements, and contributions to the university community. Students shared their experiences and expressed gratitude, making the programme both emotional and inspiring.

The event was filled with enthusiasm, reflections, and meaningful interactions, creating lasting memories for all present.

Happy to share that the 56th Independence and National Day of Bangladesh was celebrated on Tuesday, 31st March 2026 at 7:00 p.m. at the Taj Mahal Palace, Colaba, Mumbai, in the presence of students from Bangladesh.

The event was graced by Her Excellency Ms. Farhana Ahmed Chowdhury, Commission of Bangladesh in Mumbai, adding great significance to the occasion.

The celebration reflected the spirit of freedom, national pride, and cultural unity. It was heartening to witness the enthusiastic participation of Bangladeshi students. Our students also actively participated and delivered cultural performances, adding vibrancy and energy to the programme.

The event also served as a meaningful platform to strengthen cultural ties, promote mutual understanding, and celebrate the shared values of history, identity, and international friendship.

We are delighted to share that Certificates of Appreciation along with Recommendation Letters were presented to the International Youth Festival 2025–26 Coordinators, who played a pivotal role in successfully organising the Youth Festival by the International Centre, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU).

The felicitation ceremony was held on Wednesday, 25th February 2026 at 1:00 p.m., and the certificates were awarded at the hands of Ms. Cristina Di Fabio, Journalism Studies, Institute for Media and Communication Studies, Freie Universität Berlin, Germany.

This recognition acknowledges your dedicated efforts, leadership, and effective coordination in ensuring the smooth conduct and grand success of the International Youth Festival 2025–26. Your contributions have set a benchmark for excellence and collaboration.

Such engagements significantly contribute to enhancing global academic linkages and knowledge exchange.

I am pleased to share that the Valedictory Session of the Two-Day Interdisciplinary International Conference, organised by the Department of Defence and Strategic Studies (DDSS), Savitribai Phule Pune University, in memory of Late Prof. (Dr.) Arun S. Dalvi on his first death anniversary, was held on 8th February 2026 at 12:30 p.m. at Sant Dnyaneshwar Hall, Main Building, Savitribai Phule Pune University.

The conference on “Navigating Contemporary Global Conflicts: India–Europe Perspectives on Security, Diplomacy, Social Justice & Global Governance” was organised in collaboration with the International Centre, SPPU; Department of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Studies (DBAS); Indo-European Education Foundation, Poland; Strategic Culture and Security Foundation, Pune; and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University of Social Sciences (BRAUSS), Mhow, Madhya Pradesh.

The Valedictory Session was graced by the esteemed presence of Prof. (Dr.) D. K. Verma; Dr. Sheshadri Chari; and Prof. (Dr.) Arvind Kumar, who shared their reflections on the deliberations and appreciated the quality of scholarly discussions held over the two days.

Certificates were distributed to the paper presenters in recognition of their valuable academic contributions during the conference. The event concluded on a note of intellectual satisfaction, reaffirming the importance of interdisciplinary dialogue and international collaboration in addressing contemporary global challenges.

The conference served as a fitting tribute to the academic legacy of Late Prof. (Dr.) Arun S. Dalvi, inspiring continued scholarship in the field of defence and strategic studies.
