Getting Certified in the German Language

If you need to work, study or live in Germany there are certain German language requirements you have to meet. The easiest and most widely recognised way to be certified in German is to give Goethe-Zertifikat exams. These exams have 6 levels to be entirely proficient. Not only can you learn and get accredited for your language skills, sometimes it is mandatory.
• In most cases you need to reach minimum B2/C1 to study in Germany.
• You require minimum B1 for permanent residency in some cases.
• You might also need A1 to get a visa in some cases.

Hindi, being the official language of India, is the 4th most spoken language in the world with around 336 million speakers. Over time, a lot of Hindi words have been borrowed by English. Here are a few common words that you didn’t know originated from Hindi –
1. Bungalow – from बंगला (bangla)
2. Loot – from लूट (loot)
3. cot – from खाट (khaat)
4. punch – from पंच (panch, the number of ingredients used in the drink)
5. shampoo – from चंपू (champoo)
6. pyjama – from पजामा (pajaama)
7. cashmere – from कश्मीर (kashmir)
8. guru – from गुरु(guru)
9. thug – from ठग ( thag)
10. chit - from चिट्ठी ( chitthee)
11. shawl – from शाल ( shal)
12. verandah – from वरंदा ( varanda)
13. jungle- from जंगल ( jangal)

Six Interesting Language Facts For You -
1) German is the most spoken language in Europe. Four countries have it as their official language: Germany, Austria, Belgium and Luxembourg.
2) Japanese speakers speak the fastest as compared to any other language at 7.84 syllables per second. At 5.18 syllables per second, Mandarin speakers speak the slowest.
3) The language with the most words is English, boasting over 250,000 words.
4)The language with the most extensive alphabet in the world belongs to the Cambodian language Khmer and is 74 characters long and the shortest alphabet is 12 characters long and belongs to Rotokas.
5) 86% of people speak Asian or European languages mostly due to the large population density or colonization.
