Introducing the Prototype Card Set to participants at today's event.. We had a great set of participants who took the time to understand what we're trying to do and give feedback on what we've done till now..

Visiting the lake to document where different varieties of plants and trees fall on a trail. A lot of plants are weeds and shoot up all over the place like the Ranmodi, other trees surprise visitors with flowers and fruit at different times of the year.. This makes the lake a place to keep coming back to..

UPDATES! We've been working on creating the first Card Set for the Self-Guided Nature Trail.. This involves collecting information about various species that are found at the lake and finding how they are inter-related. The card numbers match points identified along the trail and give visitors information about what they can see around them..

Mapping the guided trail as a set of cards on different topics distributed across the trail.. The self-guided trail will use a pack of cards that question and answer different things seen on the trail.. We test our first prototype on site this weekend..

Site visits begin for documenting views at the lake.. We'd like to feature your photographs on a common platform.. If you would like to contribute any photographs of the lake in various seasons, of the birds there or of your experiences at the trail, please write in to [email protected]

The current guided trails use specific spots on the Trails to engage people in a discussion about topics like the watershed and bird behaviours.
The self-guided trail aims to allow more flexibility where a visitor can find out about things around them based on their interests. Visitors can spend as much time as they would like to exploring an area.
Information cards would appear on a GPS enabled device to explain the connections between different parts of the lake ecosystem.

The lake attracts many water-birds in winter and it harbours a good diversity of forest birds. It is a popular spot for birding enthusiasts of the city.

Currently, nature trails are being organized at the lake for schoolchildren and residents of the city, to introduce them to the environment.
The trails are being organized as part of a project by PMC’s Indradhanushya and Garden Department, implemented by Centre for Environment Education along with Ecological Society and other experts.
