🌟 Call for Nominations: ACM India Outstanding Contributions in Computing by a Woman (OCCW) Award 2026

ACM India invites nominations for the OCCW Award 2026, celebrating women whose outstanding contributions have advanced the broad field of computing in India.

🏆 Award: A plaque and a prize of ₹7 lakhs.

📅 Nomination deadline: 15 September 2026, 11:00 PM IST
📢 Recipient announcement: By 31 December 2026

The award recognises women who have made significant contributions through research, innovation, or interdisciplinary work in computing, while also demonstrating leadership and inspiring more women to pursue and thrive in computing.

✅ Eligibility

The candidate’s work must have been carried out primarily in India.
Open to women working across the broad field of computing.
Nominees need not be Indian nationals or ACM members.
Self-nominations are not permitted.
Nominations may remain active for up to three years, subject to eligibility.

The awardee will be honoured at the ACM India Annual Event in early 2027 and invited to speak at the ACM-W Summit, with travel and accommodation supported by ACM India.

🌟 Call for Nominations: ACM India Outstanding Contribution to Computing Education (OCCE) Award 2026

ACM India invites nominations for the Outstanding Contribution to Computing Education (OCCE) Award 2026, recognising individuals who have made fundamental, innovative, and impactful contributions to computing education while working primarily in India.

🏆 Award: A plaque and a prize of ₹7 lakhs, with financial support from Google.

📅 Nomination deadline: 15 September 2026, 11:00 PM IST
📢 Recipient announcement: 15 November 2026

The award celebrates impactful work in areas such as:

Transformative teaching of core computing concepts
Teacher training and sustained student/researcher mentoring
Curriculum, laboratory, and education-infrastructure development
Educational technology, MOOCs, online courses, and textbooks
Research and best practices in computing education

✅ Eligibility

Contributions must have been made primarily while working in India.
Open to active contributors in the broad field of computing education.
Nominees need not be Indian nationals or ACM members.
Self-nominations are not permitted.

🌟 Call for Nominations: ACM India Early Career Researcher Award 2026

ACM India invites nominations for the Early Career Researcher (ECR) Award 2026, honouring researchers whose groundbreaking, innovative, and influential contributions are advancing computing research and practice in India.

🏆 Award: A plaque and a prize of ₹15 lakhs, generously sponsored by the Persistent Foundation.

📅 Nomination deadline: 15 September 2026, 11:00 PM IST
📢 Winner announcement: By 15 January 2027

✅ Eligibility

Candidates must be within 6–12 years of receiving their terminal degree.
For the 2026 award, eligible candidates must have received their degree between 1 January 2014 and 31 December 2019.
Contributions should have been made primarily while working in India.
Open to all computing researchers, irrespective of nationality, ACM membership, or terminal-degree discipline.
Self-nominations are not permitted.

Nominations will be evaluated by a distinguished international jury based on the impact of the candidate’s research contributions to computing theory and/or practice.

The award recipient will be honoured at the ACM India Annual Event in February and will deliver a research talk at the ARCS Symposium.

🇮🇳✨ India Shines at IOAI 2026! 🤖🏆

Launched in 2024 by ACM India, in partnership with ACM IKDD and IIIT Hyderabad, the Indian National AI Olympiad (INAIO) is nurturing young AI talent from across the country. 🌟

In only our second year at the International Olympiad in AI (IOAI), Team India competed alongside 440 students from 100 countries and proudly brought home 7 medals and an Honourable Mention! 🎉

ACM India invites academic institutions to host a two-week residential Winter School during December 2026–January 2027.

Hosting an ACM India Winter School offers institutions an opportunity to:

🔹 Establish themselves as active research and learning hubs
🔹 Engage with leading experts from academia and industry
🔹 Introduce students to advanced computing and research areas
🔹 Welcome 60–70 motivated students from across India

Host institutions are expected to provide classroom and network infrastructure, accommodation for students and teaching assistants, and a faculty member for local coordination.
