A Survey conducted by VISA , the payments Gateway Giant, in the year 2013 pegs India as one of the least financially literate countries in the world.
The "TWO" major reasons that contribute to this , they say, are
1. School curriculum does not include financial literacy
2. Parents hardly discuss finance and money with their kids
Children are driven by money much before we perceive them to have. The real prize is in raising a thankful, thrifty, frugal and responsible child.
While we all strive to make our children's life comfortable what we forget to do is prepare them for an adversity. You may think out loud "We buy expensive insurances, have assets built for our children", while all this is great as parents, the best gift we can ever give a child is teaching him to be self-sufficient and self reliant. The One skill which we need to Gift our Kids is Financial Literacy.
BUT HOW ? Explaining the complexity of the money world to your children can be challenging. Teaching them the value of every rupee and how to spend it wisely is definitely a task. That is because our little ones see money differently.
Bamboo Shoots recognises the need of imparting Money Skills and Entrepreneurial Skills to kids at a young formative age. With us, children learn the concepts of money through simple role plays, examples and lessons on the basics of finance and the importance of saving. They will understand that Financial Freedom is a matter of developing the right habits, how managing risk is more critical than avoiding it and how leverage turns an ounce of effort into tons of results. and more.
The power of talking to a child has proofs of accomplishments; We at Bamboo Shoots talk to your child about being financially fit and think like an entrepreneur……talk to them about effective saving, earning, INVESTING, spending and giving. What they learn with us ...they learn for life ! Needless to say that we also work on the mindset of your child.
The USP of the programs is that the participants act the lessons out, role-play, play games that teach basic finance while they barely have to take notes.
Whatever profession the kids may choose, they need to make money , manage money and invest money. The need of the hour is to inculcate good financial habits from a formative age.
"With this initiative we dream to imbibe in our children, a culture of being thrifty and the attitude of being positive, wise, giving and wealth."
