आज दिनांक १ मे २०२६ रोजी एस्.पी.एम्. पब्लिक इंग्लिश मीडियम स्कूलमध्ये महाराष्ट्र दिन आणि मराठी राजभाषा दिन मोठ्या उत्साहात साजरा करण्यात आला. याप्रसंगी शाळेमध्ये विविध कार्यक्रमांचे आयोजन करण्यात आले होते.
शाळेच्या उपप्राचार्या अंजली बेटगिरी यांच्या हस्ते राष्ट्रध्वज फडकवण्यात आला. त्यानंतर राष्ट्रगीताचे गायन झाले. तसेच शाळेतील समस्त शिक्षकवृंदाने 'जय जय महाराष्ट्र माझा' या राज्यगीताचे सामूहिक गायन केले. नंतर शाळेच्या उपप्राचार्या अंजली बेटगिरी यांनी महाराष्ट्र दिन आणि कामगार दिन या दुहेरी दिवसाचे औचित्य साधून उपस्थितांना मार्गदर्शन केले.
प्राथमिक आणि माध्यमिक विभागातील काही शिक्षिकांनी आपल्या भाषणातून आजच्या दिवसाचे महत्त्व सांगितले. शाळेतील शिक्षिकांनी 'ही मायभूमी ही जन्मभूमी' या गीतातून महाराष्ट्र भूमीला मानवंदना दिली. कार्यक्रमाचा समारोप वंदे मातरम् या गीताने करण्यात आला.

S.P.M. Public English Medium School celebrated English Day with great enthusiasm marking the birth anniversary of William Shakespeare.

The day was dedicated to appreciate the English language and encourage the students to express themselves confidently.

The celebration began with a brief introduction to highlight the importance of English as a global language that connects people across cultures. This was followed by the recitation of a short poem during the assembly.

Students from both the primary and secondary sections actively participated in a wide range of engaging activities. The primary section organized interactive sessions such as poem recitation, storytelling and vocabulary-building games to make learning enjoyable and effective, while the secondary section engaged students through activities like creative writing, essay writing and poetry writing to enhance their expression and creative thinking skills.

The creative writing event for the secondary section provided students with an opportunity to explore their imagination and present original ideas. The stories shared were thoughtful and engaging, often reflecting real-life experiences and moral values, while showcasing clarity of thought and strong expression.

The celebration not only enhanced students’ language skills but also boosted their confidence. It was a joyful and enriching experience for all.

SPM Public English Medium School hosted the Final Round of the English Elocution Competition on 27th April 2026, celebrating the art of public speaking and expression.

The event commenced with a graceful Saraswati Vandana, invoking blessings for knowledge and wisdom.

We were honoured to have Ms. Jasmine Dahiwal, English Educator, Millennium National School, Pune, as the esteemed judge for the competition. The Vice Principal, Mrs. Anjali Betgeri, felicitated our respected guest.

A total of 22 students from Std. VI to Std. X participated in the final round, showcasing their confidence, articulation, and command over the language. Each participant was given 2 to 3 minutes to present their speech, providing a platform for thoughtful and impactful expression.

The competition was an inspiring display of talent, creativity, and powerful ideas. The presentation of the students was impressive.

Ms. Jasmine Dahiwal appreciated the participants’ efforts and encouraged them to keep refining their communication skills through continuous practice and participation.

S.P.M. Public English Medium School conducted its Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2026–27, formally inducting the newly elected Student Council.

The ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Honourable Chairman, Managing Council, S.P Mandali's Shri Sudhir Kalkar, Vice Chairman Managing Council, S.P Mandali's Shri Radhesham Agrawal, our school LMC Chairman Shri Parag Thakur, Members of Managing Council S. P Mandali's Shri Vivek Nayak, Shri Raghav Ashtekar, Shri Anil Barve, Shri Tushar Kulkarni along with our school Principal Dr. Aparna Morris and Vice Principal Mrs. Anjali Betgeri, PTA members, alumni, staff, parents, and students.

The newly appointed leaders were honoured with badges and sashes, followed by the Oath of Office. The student leaders shared their vision for the year ahead, and a disciplined March Past added to the grandeur of the event.

The LMC members addressed the gathering and encouraged the newly elected student council to lead with responsibility and integrity.

The ceremony concluded with a Vote of Thanks and Vande Mataram.

It is a very proud moment for S.P.M Public English Medium School, Pune as for the fourth consecutive year, our Std. 10 CBSE students have achieved a phenomenal 100 % result.
Keeping the tradition alive, a whopping 16 students in Sanskrit, 15 students in Marathi and 15 students in German language, one student in English and Social Science respectively scored 100/100 marks.

Our school conducted an enriching two-day CBSE Capacity Building Programme on 17th and 18th of April 2026. The workshop focused on the topic, 'Strengthening Assessment and Evaluation Practices'. We were honoured to have Mrs. Poonam Thakur, Principal, Podar International School, Mira Road and Mrs. Varsha Kokil, Principal, Mansukhbhai Kothari National School, Pune as our distinguished resource persons, who shared invaluable insights on the topic.
​The training focused on the importance of competency-based assessments. The workshop provided our teachers with practical tools to design holistic and meaningful evaluations.

The interactive sessions for Std. 8 and 9 were conducted on 10th and 15th April by Mr. Christoph Hammer, an intern from the Goethe-Institut Pune. The topics covered were Geography of Austria and Regional German and Standard German respectively.
The sessions provided valuable geographical insights into European countries, with a special focus on Austria. Greater emphasis was placed on understanding pronunciation differences across various German dialects.
Students actively participated in the sessions, making the learning experience engaging and enriching.

Zukunftswerkstatt – A Young Innovators’ Initiative 2026

Zukunftswerkstatt was an engaging and insightful workshop organized by India Flying Labs in collaboration with Goethe-Institut Pune and the Institute of Sustainability and Development Studies (ISDS).

The workshop brought together seven schools, with each school participating as a team of four to six students.

The primary objective of the programme was to educate students about drones and their real-life applications, highlighting their importance in fields such as agriculture, disaster management, and environmental monitoring.

Day 2 commenced with an exciting problem-solving activity. Our school group selected the scenario titled “Crop Damage Mystery.” This task was designed to test analytical thinking, teamwork, and effective communication skills. The challenge required students to assess a real-life situation and propose practical solutions using drone technology.

A special session was also conducted to enhance German vocabulary. Students were introduced to the various components of drones in the German language and actively participated in solving worksheets to reinforce their learning.

We are proud to share that our school group won the competition by answering all the questions correctly. The workshop proved to be a valuable learning experience, significantly enhancing our students’ critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Founded on 5th February 1883 in Pune, Shikshana Prasaraka Mandali (SPM) proudly completes 138 years of dedicated service to education, culture and values in Maharashtra.

The Mandali was founded by four visionary primary teachers — Krishnaji Ballal Dongre, Damodar Sadashiv Karambelkar, Ramchandra Bhikaji Kulkarni and Ramchandra Gopal Deo, under the inspiring guidance of the eminent educationist Vishnushastri Chiplunkar.

This historic milestone was commemorated during the morning assembly at S.P.M. Public English Medium School, where students and staff paid heartfelt homage to the founders. Their selfless commitment laid the strong foundation of SPM and continues to inspire generations.

With reverence and gratitude, we celebrate their legacy and renew our pledge to uphold the ideals they stood for.
