It is always a pleasure to meet our alumni, many of whom are doing exceptionally well across the globe. Several have become successful entrepreneurs, transforming from job seekers into job providers.
Today I met one such alumnus, Mr. Roshan Rathi, from the 2006-2008 batch, in Kathmandu, Nepal. He is the founder of the Asian Institute of Technology and Management (AITM), an excellent group of institutions offering higher secondary, graduate, and postgraduate programs in Nepal through collaborations with globally renowned universities.
Walking into his office, I was deeply moved to see a photograph of our founder chancellor, Bala sir, with his famous caption: "Problems are Opportunities…." Seeing that brought back a flood of emotions. Bala sir was a great visionary leader—always humble, simple, and benevolent—who shaped the careers of so many students and, in turn, touched countless families.
I spent almost two hours with Roshan, and it was a truly nostalgic experience. I found him to be a very simple humble and highly passionate person, perhaps influenced by Bala sir's legacy. While I enjoyed touring his institute, I was unable to meet any students, because today was holiday for them which was a small regret. In fact I just wanted to share my feelings to the budding leaders.
It was wonderful to see an entrepreneur from our alumni group succeed in the field of education. I wish him and his students all the very best and am sure that Bala sir's blessings will always be with him in all his future endeavors.
