The Tanpura is a traditional Indian stringed instrument providing harmonic foundation and drone accompaniment in Hindustani classical music.

- Long-necked, plucked string instrument

- Played to provide constant drone sound
_Sitar_
The Sitar is a popular Indian stringed instrument playing intricate melodies in Hindustani classical music.
Key Features:
- 18-20 frets
- Played with metallic pick (mizraab)
- Intricate fretwork and sympathetic strings
