Innovatia at KHS Primary

Topic: Glow-in-the-Dark in Nature

The session explored the fascinating phenomenon of bioluminescence — where some living organisms produce their own light.

Students learned how creatures like fireflies, glow-worms, and certain marine animals glow due to a chemical reaction inside their bodies. Teachers explained how they use this natural light for communication, attracting mates, finding food, and protecting themselves.

It was a wonderful way to show children how science works in everyday life through nature itself.

Hands-on Activity: Lava Lamp with Highlighter Ink
Children made their own mini lava lamps! Using oil, water, and highlighter-colored water, they watched what happens when an effervescent tablet releases gas bubbles. The glowing water moved up and down, creating a beautiful lava-like effect.

The activity made it easy to understand that oil and water do not mix, while also sparking curiosity and lots of "wow" moments.

Innovatia continues to light up young minds by connecting science with wonder and play. ✨

Prabhat Pheri at KHS Primary, Ketkar Road
14th August 2026

KHS Primary celebrated the eve of Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotism.

Students of Grade 1 & 2 and Grade 3 & 4 took part in their respective shifts. Some students came dressed as freedom fighters, honoring the spirit of our nation.

This year, the Prabhat Pheri was themed around World Environment Day.
The air was filled with meaningful slogans and banners such as:
“Happy Plants, Happy World”
“Save the Tree, Set Earth Free”
“Reduce, Reuse, Recycle”
and many more.

The procession included vibrant Lezim formations by students and powerful Shankh Vadan.
A special skit on reducing plastic, planting trees, and saving our Mother Earth conveyed a strong message of environmental responsibility.

Through song, movement, and drama, our students pledged to be energetic, patriotic, and responsible future citizens who care for both the nation and nature. 🇮🇳🌿

Bulletin Boards – August | KHS Primary

Our corridors are brighter this month, thanks to the wonderful creativity of our teachers!

The August bulletin boards showcase informative and colorful posters on themes like Music of Nature, Weather Wonders, Food and Festivals. Each display highlights the learning outcomes of different classes and reflects the great efforts put in by teachers.

As students walk through the corridors for music, computer, art periods or even while on stilts, they pause to observe and learn from these vibrant displays.

Kudos to all teachers for turning our walls into spaces of learning, curiosity, and joy!

Innovatia at KHS Primary: Density in a Jar

The Innovatia session at KHS Primary was conducted by Archana Kajale teacher and Sreekala Kurup teacher.

The topic for the day was "Density in a Jar"
Students learned how different liquids stack on top of each other based on their weight and density. They also explored why some objects float while others sink in liquids of varied density.

The highlight of the session was a hands-on activity where children made beautiful *rainbow jars* by carefully layering liquids. They also experimented with floating and sinking objects, and created their own colourful density bottles.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the experiments and had great fun discovering science through colours and play.

Innovatia continues to make learning engaging by turning big science ideas into simple, hands-on experiences.

Special Assembly at KHS Primary by Std 4B & Std 2B

A soulful special assembly was presented by Std 4B on the topic Guru Purnima and by Std 2B on Ashadhi Ekadashi.

Std 4B students presented a small skit and a beautiful group song to explain the importance of gurus in our lives. The assembly concluded with the heartfelt song _“इतनी शक्ति हमें देना दाता”, which touched everyone’s hearts.

Std 2B students gave an energetic and vibrant presentation on पालखी and वारी. Dressed as वारकरी, with Vitthal-Rukmini on stage, they made the assembly truly divine and devotional.

Kudos to the teachers for choosing such meaningful topics and for preparing the students so beautifully. The assembly left everyone with a feeling of gratitude, devotion, and joy.

Innovatia at KHS Primary: Science of Spin

The Innovatia session at KHS Primary began with an engaging opening by Chitra Hardikar teacher and Chaitali Kamat teacher.

The topic for the day was *"Science of Spin – Why does a boomerang return?"*

Students explored the concept of spinning through live demos of a *spinning top* and a *Frisbee*. Through presentations and videos, they learned about the history and origin of the boomerang, its traditional uses, and how it is used today as a game and even as a musical instrument.

The teachers explained the science behind its working — how lift, air pressure, and rotation work together. They discussed the factors that affect a boomerang’s spin and the logic behind its curved path back to the thrower. A live demonstration made the concept come alive for the children.

The session ended with a hands-on activity where students made their own boomerangs using craft paper. They had great fun testing them out and watching the power of spin in action!

Innovatia sparked curiosity and showed students that science is fun, playful, and all around us.

अभंगवाणी आणि विठ्ठल नामस्मरण - KHS Primary

आषाढी एकादशी निमित्त KHS Primary मध्ये एक आनंददायी आणि भक्तिमय वातावरण होते. हा दिवस _अभंगवाणी आणि विठ्ठल नामस्मरण_ साठी साजरा करण्यात आला. आमच्या संगीत शिक्षिका रश्मी ओक आणि शिल्पा गोर्‍हे यांनी सुंदर अभंग सादर केले आणि संपूर्ण शाळा भक्तिरसाने भरून गेली.

नंतर सर्व विद्यार्थी, शिक्षक आणि उपस्थितांनी एकत्रितपणे विठ्ठल नामस्मरण केले. शाळेतील प्रत्येक कोपरा "जय जय विठ्ठल जय हरी विठ्ठल, पांडुरंग पांडुरंग" या जयघोषाने दुमदुमला.

हा दिवस खरोखरच अंतर्मनाला भिडणारा होता. लहानग्यांच्या मनात भक्तीची बीजे रुजली आणि सर्वांची हृदये कृतज्ञतेने भरून गेली.
