Proud moment as a teacher π

"Complaints" from my students!
(Along with my remarks in brackets about a few of them. Truth be told! π€·π»ββοΈ)
β
οΈ To read and understand the rest of the "complaints" in their text in German, join now, where Learning is always mixed with fun & creativity! π π¨
βͺοΈ No holiday on festivals! (Well, only sometimes!)
βͺοΈ No private chats during class!
(They already talk so much in class. ΰ€ΰ€Ώΰ€€ΰ₯ ΰ€ΰ€ͺΰ₯ΰ€ͺΰ€Ύ! Reden wie ein Wasserfall always.)
βͺοΈ We are sleepy.
(Immer das Theater! ΰ€¨ΰ€Ύΰ€ΰ€!)
βͺοΈ So much Grammar everyday.
(Conveniently forgetting the songs, videos, games and chit-chat sessions about everything under the sun. Wie gemein.)
βͺοΈ Our teacher loves pets π πββ¬οΈ more than she loves us.
(Well, guilty as charged. π― valid!)
But what matters more, inspite of all the 'inspite of' items listed, is their first sentence:
We enjoy our course π₯°
And the feelings are mutual π€π»
This is the same 'gang of girls' who has been with me throughout A1 and A2 and we had so much fun together π₯³

Whom do you turn to when you have no clue what to do?
To friends, of course! π«
Here are my German A2 students Apurva, Payal, Sabaheen (Pune), Swati (ZΓΌrich)and Ankita(Stuttgart) giving suggestions to a lovelorn buddy who misses her loved one. π₯²
And after having know this girl-gang for over half a year, I am so not surprised with their last two suggestions π
Yet again, the creative writing + grammar combo at has churned out fun and frolic! π₯³

Thank you for your Feedback, Ankita!
It was a delight to have you at . You hadn't done your A1 course with me and yet you adapted so soon to my teaching style and blended in so well with the group and we had so much fun! π
Looking forward to teaching you in B1 π

Wanderlust. Fernweh.
Call it what you wish to, but travel or vacation gives everyone (well, almost!) a high.
Be it for a business trip to Germany or a holiday in Goa.
Here are my German A2 students Apurva and Sabaheen writing about their experiences.
This was penned down right when they started A2 at but I finally am posting it now (when they are all set to hop on to B1! )

Thank you for your feedback, Akshay !
And for being such a sincere student throughout the German A1 course inspite of your "zu viel Arbeit"! π
When one is swamped with work during the week, one looks forward to the weekend to just relax and chill.
However, you always showed up for the early morning Weekend classes - all set and charged up to learn something new! π
And that zeal of yours, (along with your indispensable protein shakes - almonds - jogging routine!) may probably help me refrain from calling you "Onkel Akshay". π
Jokes apart, I wish you all the luck and success in your upcoming Goethe A1 exam. π

All my students, be it from Pune University, Symbiosis or , can vouch for the fact that Bollywood holds a special place in my courses! π
And so do creative writing and group activites!
And when all of them come together, what follows is a class filled with smiles on the students' faces and satisfaction on the teacher's! π
Valentine's Day feels like the perfect time to post these π©π»ββ€οΈβπβπ¨π» stories written in just a couple of minutes by my A2 German group (which also completed A1 with me) - a super-enthu , smart & sweet gang of gals with whom every session feels special β¨οΈ

Here's my A2 student Ankita , who hails from Pune, expressing her thoughts on what she likes (or doesn't!) about Stuttgart, where she is currently residing with her family, and about Germany. π©πͺ
At , learning is not just about grammar and vocabulary, but also about being able to express yourself creatively.
And I feel overjoyed to see my students taking the initiative to go beyond the formal syllabus and make the most of this power of expression. π¨.

This was the first time in my 12 years of teaching experience that a student expressed the wish of giving me feedback in German itself and not English. And as a teacher, I felt overwhelmed! π₯°
Here's Chhaya, who joined for A2, after having done the A1 course elsewhere, who didn't feel confident to even speak in basic German on Day 1 and who, after the course ended, told me that she wished to try writing in German itself!π
Yes, the language she used is simple.
Yes, there were 2-3 grammatical mistakes which I corrected.
Yes, she could have written much more and much better had she chosen to write in English.π
And, yet, I feel so proud and elated about the sheer fact that she still chose to write in German. And no, I don't find it fair to take the entire credit for it. Yes, teachers do contribute to the success, improvement and growth of their students, but that can't justify taking away the credit that's due to their own inherent drive, their hardwork, their dedication, their never-give-up attitude and most of all, their willingness to try without the fear of making mistakes.ππ»
That's how one learns - be it a language or absolutely anything in life.
When one is keen try, to experiment, to shed inhibitions and to look at the langauge as a happy pursuit and not a task that needs to be accomplished. π
That's what I encourage my students to do.
And there is so much I Iearn from my students in this process.
Being a teacher implies never ceasing to be a student. π.
