CPCT Full-Form “Corresponding Parts of Congruent Triangles”. Congruence can be predicted without really measuring the sides and angles of a triangle.

Below are the rules of the CPCT

SSS (Side-Side-Side)

SAS (Side-Angle-Side)

ASA (Angle-Side-Angle)

AAS (Angle-Angle-Side)

RHS (Right angle-Hypotenuse-Side)

AAS congruency can be proved through below:

Suppose we have two triangles ABC and DEF, where

∠B = ∠E and ∠C = ∠F and AC = DF.

we know that;

∠A + ∠B + ∠C = 180

∠D + ∠E + ∠F = 180

From above we can say;

∠A + ∠B + ∠C = ∠D + ∠E + ∠F

Hence, in triangle ABC and DEF,

∠A = ∠D

AC = DF

∠C = ∠F

Hence Δ ABC ≅ Δ DEF
