Here's a simple educational art & craft activity to keep the little hands busy. This activity is fantastic if you are homeschooling or just looking for some fun-and-learn stuff to do with your kids.
The materials required are:
▶️3 triangles cut out of white chart paper.
▶️ Yellow colour paint in 3 shades - we used poster colours in 2 shades - golden yellow and lemon yellow. For the 3rd shade, we mixed yellow with a little white.
▶️ Sponge
▶️Black marker to draw the eye.
Here's how to proceed:
⏩ Cut 3 triangles of different sizes. If your child is old enough to use scissors, allow him to cut them.
⏩Ask your child to arrange them according to the size - small, medium, large
⏩Ask your child to observe and name the colour. You could lead the discussion by asking the following questions-
Are the 3 colours the same or different?
How are they different?
Which shade is darker/lighter?
Have you seen something that looks like this colour?
Answers could be -Sun, banana, marigold flower, rubber duckie, etc.
Guide your child to dab the paint on the triangles with the sponge
⏩After it dries, you could ask your child to arrange the triangles to make a fish.
⏩Glue the pieces in place.
⏩Draw the eye with the marker to complete it.
This activity leads to experiential learning and skill development while having fun. The child will learn about shapes, colour, texture, size, develop fine motor skills, enhance creative thinking skills and imagination.
