Contractions are a way to mash together two words in order to make them shorter. They also are a way to make your writing seem more conversational and have the reader feel included in the writing.

Most nouns can change from singular to plural with the simple addition of -s or an -es at the end of the noun. However, some nouns choose to be difficult, and can have a wide range of different endings when changed to their plural form! These are called irregular nouns.
