It was the Democracy Week at The Wonder School – a true testament to our motto of creating an environment that's for the children, by the children, and of the children!
Our week-long journey began with educating each class about the essence of democracy, integrating lessons into their curriculum and facilitating role-plays about country management. For a home activity, we encouraged our young minds to interview their family members about their understanding of democracy, allowing for inter-generational learning.
As we dove into the nomination process, our students stepped up and embraced their creativity by designing their voting emblems. Their enthusiasm in shaping their political identities has been infectious!
A total of six prestigious leadership positions are up for grabs - four house captains to represent the illustrious houses of Kalam, Sarabhai, Bhabha, and Ramanujam and a Vice President and President who will lead the student body. These roles aren't appointed by teachers but chosen by the students, reflecting the true spirit of a democratic system.
Our aim is not just to teach them about elections or democracy but to help them understand the essence of responsible leadership. We are committed to fostering an environment that nurtures leaders who can make a difference, and we're incredibly proud of every student stepping up to the plate this Democracy Week.
