Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao High School Ganeshnagar - KHSG

On 12th June 2026, Grade 7 students gathered in the Stills for the first introductory session of the Jeevit Nadi Programme, conducted by facilitators from the Jeevit Nadi team.
The aim of the programme was to enroll more students in the initiative, create awareness about the condition of Pune's rivers, and encourage students to understand what they can do to help conserve them.
The programme began with a short skit titled "Blame Game", performed by the previous year's Grade 7 students. The skit highlighted that instead of blaming others for river pollution, each individual must take responsibility for protecting Pune's rivers, such as the Mula and M***a.
This was followed by an introduction to the work of the Jeevit Nadi team and their contribution towards river rejuvenation.
The facilitators explained that the organization has been working since 2014 to restore and conserve rivers.
They shared information about the various sessions, field trips, and activities conducted as part of the programme.
The students also learned about toxin-free lifestyles and ways to keep rivers clean and healthy.
The Jeevit Nadi team conducted an engaging quiz based on rivers, which generated great enthusiasm among the students.
At the end of the session, the teacher briefed the students about the enrollment procedure for the Jeevit Nadi Programme.
The session was informative, interactive, and inspiring, encouraging students to become responsible citizens and active participants in river conservation efforts.

A Memorable Theatre Visit – Fletcher Aur Zenobia
On 15th June, 34 students from Classes 6 and 7 had the wonderful opportunity to visit the SLR Blackbox Theatre, Pune, to watch the Hindi play Fletcher Aur Zenobia.
Presented by Gillo Repertory Theatre, the play beautifully explored themes of friendship, imagination, and freedom.
The talented actors, engaging performances, and innovative storytelling captivated the young audience from beginning to end.
The students thoroughly enjoyed the live theatre experience and appreciated the chance to witness the magic of performing arts firsthand.
The visit proved to be both entertaining and enriching, leaving the students with cherished memories and a deeper appreciation for theatre and creative expression.

Students and new admissions of Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao High School, Ganeshnagar, were warmly welcomed on 10 June 2026 to the new academic year.
The Principal addressed students of Grades V–VIII and briefed them on school rules and regulations. Grade V students enjoyed a surprise visit from Olaf the Snowman, who brought smiles and laughter.
Students spent time with their teachers and were taken on a tour of the school facilities.
The day was filled with joy, excitement, and pride in being part of KHSG.

A Proud Musical Milestone for KHSG!
We are delighted to share that two students from Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao High School, Ganeshnagar were selected to be a part of Balrangamahotsav, organized by the Maharashtra Cultural Centre.
Ashutosh Ranade (Std. IX F) represented the band as a Keyboardist.
Arnav Phulpagare (Std. IX D) represented the band as a Guitarist.
The talented young musicians performed in the musical production "Gane Tumche Amche", successfully completing their first full-fledged shows on 1st and 2nd May 2026. The band performed an impressive repertoire of 19 songs, captivating audiences with their musical talent and stage presence.
Adding to this achievement, they have three more performances scheduled this month, marking an exciting journey in the world of music and performing arts.
Heartiest congratulations to Ashutosh and Arnav for this remarkable accomplishment. We wish them continued success as they continue to shine on stage and make the KHSG community proud!

Learning Beyond Classrooms: A Summer of Growth, Exploration and Excellence!
The summer break was a time of meaningful learning and achievement for the students and educators of Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao High School, Ganeshnagar.
Our secondary school students, accompanied by Ms. Snehal Bhumkar, attended the International S**C MACAY Convention at IIT Kharagpur from 25th to 31st May. The week-long residential convention brought together students from across India and abroad to celebrate the richness of Indian art, culture, and heritage. Living in an Ashram-style environment, students experienced discipline, simplicity, and mindful living while participating in workshops and performances by renowned artists in classical music, dance, theatre, and visual arts.
Four students—Aniket, Tejal, Shravani, and Arnav—participated in the Future Skills Workshop 3.0 organized by La Fondation Dassault Systèmes India. Through HomeByMe and MakeByMe platforms, they explored interior space design, innovation, VR technology, and design thinking while developing creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Three students—Nikhil Damle, Shree Chavare, and Raghav Khandelwal—participated in the AutoXplore Summer Camp organized by Sai Service Skill Tech Academy (SaiSTA). Through hands-on activities, they explored automobile components, reverse engineering, driving simulation, customer interaction, and problem-solving. The camp provided valuable exposure to the automotive industry while fostering teamwork, confidence, curiosity, and practical learning.
Ms. Pallavi Naik, Head Academics, Kaveri Group of Institutes, and Ms. Anjali Gulanikar attended the ThinQ Workshop on “Theory Construction in Motion” in Coimbatore. The workshop highlighted the importance of inquiry-based learning, observation, questioning, and theory-building in helping students develop deeper conceptual understanding.
Mrs. Shubhada Karnik represented the school at the International Conference on Human Resilience in Hong Kong, presenting her research paper on Mandala Art with Children Living with Complex Trauma in Institutional Care. Her work was highly appreciated by an international audience of researchers and educators.
We are immensely proud of our students and teachers who chose to invest their holidays in learning, exploration, research, and personal growth. Their dedication reflects the spirit of curiosity, excellence, and lifelong learning that defines the KHSG community. National Glory for Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao High School, Ganeshnagar!
We are proud to share that our school represented Maharashtra at the 1st Drip Ball Federation Cup 2026, held at Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh, from 10th May to 15th May 2026.
The Maharashtra team delivered an outstanding performance, winning all four championship trophies in:

*Under-17 Girls
*Open Men's Group
*Open Women's Group
Our school representatives included Mr. Avinash, Ms. Sunita Swami, and students Shravan Kadam (Std. X) and Prajakta More (Std. X).

*Shravan Kadam received the Best Player Award in the Under-17 Boys category.
*Prajakta More received the Best Player Award in the Under-17 Girls category.

As part of the World Environment Day celebrations, KHSG students participating in the Jeevit Nadi Project visited the M***a River stretch near Vitthalwadi Mandir on Sinhagad Road on Sunday, 7 June 2026.
During the visit, the students actively participated in a river clean-up drive, contributing to the conservation and restoration of the local ecosystem. Following the clean-up activity, they delivered informative presentations on river pollution and the importance of adopting a toxin-free lifestyle.
The presentations were exceptionally well-prepared and confidently delivered by all the students. They demonstrated a sound understanding of environmental issues and answered the audience's questions thoughtfully and effectively.
The event served as a valuable learning experience, reinforcing the students' commitment to environmental stewardship and their role as responsible citizens working towards a cleaner and healthier future.

A memory that now carries even deeper meaning.
We were honored to host Mr. Ravi Pandit at our school and Tinkering Lab, where he interacted with our students and shared inspiring thoughts on innovation, learning, and dreaming big.
His words encouraged our children to think beyond boundaries and believe in the power of ideas.
The moments we shared with him and the smiles we captured will forever remain special.
Deeply saddened by his passing.
