Kaveri Literati Festival 2026-27
The Literati Festival, held on 6th and 7th August 2026, was a vibrant celebration of literature, creativity, and self-expression. It brought together students and teachers in an inspiring atmosphere filled with stories, poetry, ideas, and imagination.
The festival featured exciting competitions such as Poetry Recitation, Spin-in-Yarn (Storytelling), Act-it-Out, and Mad Ads. Poetry Recitation showcased rhythm, emotion, and confidence, while Spin-in-Yarn transported audiences into fascinating worlds through imaginative storytelling. Act-it-Out highlighted expressive acting, humour, teamwork, and meaningful messages. Mad Ads added spontaneity and laughter, bringing out students’ wit, originality, and quick thinking. Open Mic gave the students the platform to share their stories, experiences in a fun entertaining way.
The festival encouraged students to read widely, think critically, communicate confidently, and appreciate diverse perspectives. More than a literary event, Literati celebrated creativity and the power of words.
The Prize Distribution Ceremony, held on 10th August, marked a memorable conclusion. Mr. Girish Khare, founder of The Madhatter4Children, was the chief guest. Outstanding performances and achievements were honoured, bringing the celebrations to a fitting close.

A meaningful morning of connection, conversations and growing together!
The Counselling Unit hosted a Parent–Daughter Bonding Programme for Grade 5 & 6 girls and their parents, focusing on menstrual awareness, hygiene, healthy communication and understanding the changes of growing up.
With an engaging session by Dr. Sonali Talavlikar, the programme encouraged girls and parents to ask questions, clear misconceptions and build a more open and supportive dialogue.
Because growing up is easier when we learn, connect and grow together.

Since last year, the team from VISVAS charitable trust has been conducting the chanting of the Vishnu Sahasranamam in school. Some of the members of VISVAS along with students who know the Vishnu Sahasranamam chant it in its entirety on the Public address system.
The whole school settled down in the morning to listen to the prayer.
It was a soothing experience to listen to the Vishnu Sahasranamam first thing in the morning.
The regulation of mind and breath settled the children and teachers down and this energy carried through the day.

The 8th Conference on Computational Thinking in Schools (CTiS)

We are proud to share that our teachers made impactful contributions at the 8th Conference on Computational Thinking in Schools (CTiS), organized by CS Pathshala and the ACM India Council at IISER Pune.

A major highlight was the panel discussion on "Inclusion of AI in School Education: Exploring Perspectives, Shaping the Future." Ms. Manisha Girolkar represented the voice of Computer Science teachers, sharing practical insights on implementing AI in schools. She emphasized that Computational Thinking is the foundation of AI education, discussed the challenges faced by schools, and suggested practical classroom-based solutions. Her insights were highly appreciated by the panel and audience .Ms. Gauri Joshi, as the Session Chair, mentored and guided the presenters in preparing for their presentations.
Our teachers also showcased innovative classroom practices through their presentations:
Madhura Deshpande and Pranjal Tambe presented Development of Canteen Connect App: A Computational Thinking-Based RFID-Enabled School Canteen Pre-Order System, highlighting how students use Computational Thinking to solve real-world problems.
Sharad Bhoite and Gouri Kelkar presented their poster on "नाट्य उपक्रमांच्या माध्यमातून विद्यार्थ्यांचा सर्वांगीण विकास आणि Computational Thinking चा प्रभावी वापर," demonstrating an innovative blend of theatre and Computational Thinking.
Snehal Bhumkar presented "Enhancing Understanding of Rotational Symmetry – A Computational Thinking Approach," showcasing engaging teaching aids and hands-on activities that received enthusiastic appreciation.
These accomplishments reflect our commitment to fostering innovation, Computational Thinking, interdisciplinary learning, and meaningful AI education.

We Reached for the Stars!
The grand felicitation ceremony for the Grade X Batch of 2025–26 was conducted on 1st August in an atmosphere filled with immense pride, joy, and celebration. The auditorium was vibrantly enlivened by resounding applause and enthusiastic cheers as 13 meritorious students were proudly presented with trophies and certificates in recognition of their outstanding performance in the CBSE Board Examination. The occasion was graced by the Honourable Members of the Management, the Principal, dedicated teachers, and proud parents, whose presence made the celebration even more meaningful.
An exceptional academic achievement was celebrated as a 100% pass result was achieved by the school. Out of 226 students who appeared for the examination, 70 students secured 90% and above. Outstanding performances ranging from 98.80% to 95.60% were recorded by the toppers, reflecting the unwavering commitment, perseverance, and excellence that had been nurtured throughout the academic year. A perfect score of 100/100 in English was achieved by 12 students, while 18 students were awarded a perfect 100/100 in Marathi, adding yet another feather to the school's cap.
The ceremony was honoured by the presence of the Chief Guest, Chaitanya Velhal, an accomplished Ironman triathlete, celebrity coach, sports nutritionist, and entrepreneur. An inspiring address was delivered by him, during which his remarkable journey was shared and valuable lessons on determination, discipline, resilience, and purposeful living were imparted to the students.
A deeply moving and heartfelt speech was delivered by the parents of the school topper, Vedant Pawale, in which sincere gratitude was expressed towards the teachers and the school for their constant guidance, encouragement, and unwavering support. The ceremony was brought to a fitting close with an inspiring address by the Principal, Mrs Anjali Kulkarni through which the achievements of the students were applauded and every learner was encouraged to dream fearlessly, strive relentlessly, and pursue excellence with confidence and integrity.
The event was remembered as a proud celebration of dedication, perseverance, and success, and all those present were left feeling deeply inspired, immensely motivated, and encouraged to reach for the stars.

One Heart, One Voice, One Community
The first-ever Pune Prabhat Pheri was organised on 25th July 2026, on the auspicious occasion of Ashadhi Ekadashi, through the joint efforts of the Kannada Sangha’s Kaveri Kalashetra and Mr Punit Joshi, Corporator, PMC Ward No. 29. The event was conceived and thoughtfully curated by acclaimed Carnatic Vocalist Nandini Rao as a heartfelt initiative to revive the timeless tradition of Nagara Sankeertana in the sacred city of Punyanagari.
Inspired by India's rich Bhakti tradition, the Prabhat Pheri was envisioned as a celebration of devotion, unity, and cultural heritage. The streets were filled with the soul-stirring sounds of devotional music, while an atmosphere of serenity, reverence, and joyful togetherness was created through collective singing, prayer, and fellowship. Community bonds were strengthened, cultural traditions were honoured, and the day was begun with positivity and the chanting of the Divine Name.
More than 150 enthusiastic students, parents, teachers, and community members, elegantly dressed in traditional attire and carrying cymbals, were brought together for this memorable procession. A devotional walk from Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao High School, Ganeshnagar, to the Vitthal Mandir, Karvenagar, was undertaken amidst the melodious singing of abhangas and the continuous chanting of Lord Vitthal's name. The spiritual fervour was heightened by the rhythmic beats of the traditional dhol and tasha, while the procession was enlivened by joyous dancing and radiant smiles.
On reaching the temple, a heartfelt aarti was offered, and prasad was distributed to all. The event was concluded on a deeply spiritual note, and every participant was left with a profound sense of peace, fulfilment, and divine bliss. The Prabhat Pheri was cherished as a memorable celebration of faith, culture, and community, leaving behind lasting memories and a renewed spirit of devotion.

In 2026, India holds the BRICS Chairship under the theme "Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability (BRICS)."
As part of India's BRICS Chairship initiatives, the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, organized a Student Geospatial Projects Showcase, which was conducted by the Bharati Vidyapeeth Institute of Environment Education and Research (BVIEER), Pune on 22July 2026 in IIT Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh.
Six students from our school participated in this project out of which two students, Arham Ahale and Mrunmayee Behere from grade IX attended the Young Geospatial Innovators Programme along with our teacher Ms. Gayatri Deshpande.
The showcase brought together school students from across India to present innovative geospatial projects that address local challenges using maps, GIS, satellite imagery, and spatial analysis.
Our project highlighted on the SDG goals 8,11,12 and 13 by building a map and a dash board for the circular economy of Pune.

KHSG was honored to host the ‘AI-Assisted ThinQ’ Session 2 on Tuesday, 21st July 2026, for our Grade 7 and 8 students. The session was led by the distinguished facilitator Rayn Samson.
Rayn has a remarkable academic background. He holds an undergraduate degree in Physics and Mathematics from Reed College, USA, contributed to the computational physics curriculum at Grinnell College, and has research experience in quantum computing from St. Olaf College. He is set to pursue his Master’s at Imperial College London. He has been associated with ThinQ since 2017 and has successfully facilitated several programs for Grades 7–12 across the Kaveri Group of Institutions.
The session was both engaging and thought-provoking. Students began by exploring examples of logical inference through simple claims and Venn diagrams. As patterns emerged, they discovered that sound inference is drawn from the relationship between claims, rather than from their content alone. Building on this foundation, students then used an interactive web app developed by Rayn to construct increasingly complex arguments by arranging claims logically. To conclude, each student explained their reasoning to an AI system, which evaluated their responses and provided personalized feedback.
This enriching session encouraged critical thinking, clarity of reasoning, and meaningful engagement with AI. Proud of our young thinkers.
