Learners come in many forms. Each individual you teach in your career will have a different set of interests, strengths and goals, regardless of age, ability or subject.
Identifying the type of learners in your class room and planning activities that have elements that will appeal to them is a great place to start when developing your lesson plans for a mixed ability class.

Exciting news from Sal and the Khan Academy team.

There are only 10 days left to enter the Breakthrough Junior Challenge! Don’t miss this chance for your students to win a $250,000 college scholarship.

Students ages 13 through 18 are invited to create a short— under three minutes— video explaining a challenging concept in physics, mathematics, or the life sciences in an engaging, illuminating, and creative way.

This year, there is a special topic on Space Exploration, and students are encouraged to share their passion on the science of exploring the Universe.

In addition to awarding a $250,000 college scholarship to the winner, the Breakthrough Junior Challenge will give the winner’s teacher a $50,000 prize and the winner’s school a new $100,000 science lab.

The videos made by the past Breakthrough Junior Challenge winners have collectively been viewed over 8 million times teaching a global audience about science and math in their own voices.

The winner will be presented their award alongside some of the world's most inspiring scientists at the Breakthrough Prize ceremony and on Facebook, and YouTube.
