Dear, Aspiring Interior Designer, Want to get practical experience?

Don't do these mistakes!

I know these things -

Showcasing your knowledge & expertise to the world
Taking up your own interior project (small/big)
Asking for your fees
Networking with suppliers & vendors
Thinking like a professional designer

...are extremely uncomfortable & difficult to do for the first time, that's why you avoid doing them..

But the biggest mistake any new interior designer can make is not realizing that it's important to do all these things because only these things are going to get you forward in your interior career..

Remember, nothing that you’re doing for the first time will ever be easy.⁣

But just because it’s hard at first, it doesn’t mean YOU aren’t someone who’s capable of doing it.⁣

You CAN do it -

Just give yourself time.⁣

Be patient with the process.⁣

Don’t confuse inexperience with weakness.⁣

Working with first-time design clients can be both a joy and a pain.

The reasons for joy are self-apparent:

You’re making money and you’re helping someone improve their space.

It’s a win-win scenario for you both.

However, the downsides of working with a first-time design client can sometimes interrupt the joy.

For example, first timers don’t often understand the process of working with a professional interior designer.

For example, first-timers don’t often understand the process of working with a professional interior designer.

They may expect too much too soon and for too little.

They get sticker shock. They want to micromanage the entire design process.

It can be maddening, to say the least.

However, it is possible to have a pleasant, amicable relationship with first-time design clients.

In this post, we’ll explore several aspects of working with first-timers, including how to find them and how to effectively manage their design needs.

Many interior designers post graduating want to fulfill their dream by setting up their own interior business.

But the hard fact is - Not so many actually decide to try.

This business idea stays in people’s minds, in discussions, and some lost notes.

Interior designers underrate their potential & limit themselves by listening to their evil inner voice.

And guess what this this inner voice produces thoughts that stop you from starting your dream business.

Then you look at your fellow successful designers and wonder how did they do it? (with disappointment & regret )

The difference between both is that -
They tried & you didn't.
They found solutions & you found excuses.

(I think you don't such regretful life, right ?)

[ PS : SAVE this post for when you'd crave motivation & inspiration ]

And send away all the excuses and just try to make your dream & your business work.

Many people succeed today because they simply decide to drop these silly excuses and go for their dreams.

And you can definitely become one of them...!!!

[SWIPE ] to see the lessons I learned in college that actually made a difference in my life & in my business today.

Back then when I used to discuss my college experience, I used to recall many things that disappointed me.

But I hardly could recall any that impacted me.

When I compared 4 years younger me with me today, I realized that over my four years in college, I actually have grasped a lot of learning, wisdom, experience, and knowledge.

These lessons aren't the academic ones, but the ones that elevated me as a professional.

In some way, I am still relearning all of these and trying to inculcate them in my ethics.

I hope they encourage you in all the ways they have for me.

COMMENT below & Let me know what you think about it.

[SWIPE] Not surprisingly / surprisingly, interior businesses need more than design knowledge to succeed.

Many skills, processes, and strategies are required to start & run an interior business efficiently.

Don't worry, nobody starts off knowing everything.

When I started I knew nothing about this real industry of interior & construction.

But over time I learned, strengthened, and nourished my business knowledge through diligence and a willingness to grow.

I guarantee you've learned something new & valuable from this post.

🤷🏻‍♀️As it's been more than a year, we all are in the lockdown phase, I’ve taken some time to reflect on the time I spent during 2020-2021.⁣🙆🏻‍♀️

In 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣0️⃣ I ...⁣

👉🏻Learned A LOT about digital marketing despite my family thinking I was stupid for wasting my time in it.⁣💻

👉🏻Launched Saree collection with no idea of how to run a product-based business & yet managed to sell 80% of the collection in 2 months.💸

👉🏻Completed a vigorous 1-year full-time Interior Thesis Program & an internship simultaneously 📝

👉🏻Started an IG account .co (for promoting my interior services) with no clue where it would lead to, to now having 3 interior deals signed.🏚

👉🏻Launched DBA (to help fellow designers with my experience) again with no clue where it would lead to, to now having multiple students trusting my private coaching.👭

🤯 Went from not knowing
"how to even start a business & get clients"
...to working on few interior sites FOR FREE 😇
...to landing PAYING clients & interior projects within 3 months of starting my business.😇

And most importantly, going from someone who was very nervous and insecure about the future to being a girl who CANNOT wait to face the real world because she TRUSTS that the future has great things in store.⁣💥

So if you’re still reading this...⁣👏🏻

🙆🏻‍♀️I truly, sincerely, and genuinely hope that you trust in your potential, welcome challenges, block out the doubters, forgive yourself for your failures, and SAY YES to things even when you aren’t ready...⁣

And then... You will unlock the next level of your life ❤️⁣⁣🔥
