Ayurvedic Support for Natural Vaginal Delivery

At Dr. Dada Gujar Hospital for Mother & Child, selected Ayurvedic therapies may be offered during the 9th month of pregnancy under qualified medical supervision as part of supportive care for women planning a va**nal birth.

Yoni Pichu

Yoni Pichu involves placing a sterile cotton pad/gauze gently in the va**na after applying an appropriate medicated oil. Traditionally, it is used to provide local lubrication and support comfort and relaxation of the pelvic tissues.

Matra Basti

Matra Basti is a small-dose medicated oil e***a used traditionally in Ayurveda. Under appropriate supervision, it may help with constipation and is traditionally considered supportive during the later stages of pregnancy.

Our Care

These treatments are provided FREE OF COST at Dr. Dada Gujar Hospital for Mother & Child, when clinically appropriate, with the aim of supporting a safe and comfortable childbirth.

Pregnancy-Induced Hypertension (PIH)

What is PIH?

Pregnancy-Induced Hypertension (PIH), also called gestational hypertension, is high blood pressure that develops after 20 weeks of pregnancy in women who previously had normal blood pressure.

Symptoms:

Reduced fetal movements (in some cases)

Risk Factors:

First pregnancy

Twin or multiple pregnancy

Previous history of PIH

Obesity

Age below 20 or above 35 years

Why is it dangerous? If not treated, PIH can progress to preeclampsia or eclampsia, increasing the risk of:

Premature delivery

Poor fetal growth

Placental abruption

Seizures in the mother

Management:

Regular antenatal check-ups

Frequent blood pressure monitoring

Healthy diet and adequate rest

Prescribed medicines as advised by your doctor

Timely delivery if required

When to seek immediate medical help:

Severe headache

Blurred vision

Severe abdominal pain

Sudden swelling

Decreased baby movements

Convulsions (fits)

Message:

Early diagnosis and regular antenatal care can protect both mother and baby. Never ignore high blood pressure during pregnancy.

Successful Management of Fever of Unknown Origin in Pregnancy

A 26-year-old G5A3P1L1 woman at 35 weeks' gestation with a previous LSCS presented to Dr. Dada Gujar Hospital for Mother & Child with high-grade fever (103.7°F) for 3 weeks, abdominal pain, maternal tachycardia, hypotension, fetal tachycardia, and decreased fetal movements.

Despite extensive investigations, no definite cause of fever was identified. With a CRP of 268 mg/L and signs of maternal and fetal compromise, an emergency LSCS was performed after appropriate counseling and medical management.

The mother's fever resolved completely after delivery, and both mother and baby (birth weight 1980 g) recovered well. The newborn was observed in the NICU and was discharged in good health.

This case highlights the importance of timely decision-making and multidisciplinary care in managing high-risk pregnancies, resulting in a successful outcome for both mother and baby.
