A visit to General Civil Hospital, Nandurbar Dist: Nandurbar was arranged for the students of First Year D. Pharm of Shatabdi institute of Pharmacy bamdod (Nandurbar) on 15th April, 2023. A batch of 46 students along with Respected Principal Dr P.H Patil sir , Visit In-charge Prof Harsharaj Ahire , Faculty member Prof.Dinesh Pawar and Mrs. Pooja Deshmuk had visited the hospital.
The visit started at 10.30 am from College. We boarded the college bus to reach to Civil Hospital Nandurbar. We reached there around 11.00 Am. At the reception, we were welcomed by the team members of Hospital. A group of 10 students each was made and then a visit to the different departments of the hospital like ICU, ICCU, IN-Patient Pharmacy, pathology lab, CATH Lab, dialysis ,operation theaters, emergency services etc was arranged.
A detailed explanation regarding each department was given during the visit. This was followed by a detailed presentation about the role of hospital pharmacy in hospital, drug distribution systems, inventory management and medication errors. In the end, we visited the In-Patient pharmacy store, where we had a chance to see the actual storage, purchasing and billing of drugs to patients. We also saw the special precautions that are taken for storage of narcotic drugs.
Overall, the visit was very informative and enjoyable. We came to know regarding the role of Hospital Pharmacist in the overall health management.
The visit to District Hospital Nandurbar was only possible by consistence guidance and Big support Our Honarable Chairman Mrs.Yogita Patil Mam and our Honarable secretary Mr. Ganesh Patil sir.
