Here is the famous rontgen hand
The famous historical photograph from around 1900 at the Royal London Hospital shows the hand of an early X-ray technician severely damaged by chronic radiation dermatitis, known as "Röntgen hands". Early pioneers tested and calibrated machines by placing their bare hands directly in the radiation beam daily, unaware of the severe long-term dangers. [1, 2]
