Govt. Higher Secondary School Hari celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit on 15 August 2026.
The programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Sh. Pritam Singh, Principal of the institution, followed by the National Anthem. The celebration was attended by Major Rahul (37 RR), Mr. Sourav Malik, Major Anirudh, J&K Police personnel, teaching and non-teaching staff, students, SMC members and local citizens.
The students presented various patriotic programmes, speeches and cultural performances, showcasing their love and respect for the nation. The March Past by the students was also one of the highlights of the celebration.
The dignitaries appreciated the efforts of the school and encouraged the students to uphold the values of unity, discipline, patriotism and responsible citizenship.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all the guests, staff, students, SMC members and local residents for their valuable presence and support.
The 80th Independence Day celebration at HSS Hari was a grand success and created a strong sense of patriotism and national pride among the students and the entire school community.

A Tiranga Rally was organised today, 11th August 2026, at Government Higher Secondary School Hari under the able supervision of Sh. Pritam Singh, Principal, HSS Hari, as part of Phase-III of the 150 Years of Vande Mataram celebrations and the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026.

Students and staff participated enthusiastically in the rally carrying the National Flag, Tiranga, and raised the patriotic slogan “Har Ghar Tiranga, Ghar Ghar Tiranga.”

The rally aimed to promote patriotism, national unity, respect for the National Flag and active participation in the ongoing national campaigns. The enthusiastic participation of students and staff created an atmosphere of patriotism and national pride in the school and surrounding community.

A two-minute silence was observed at HSS Hari during the morning assembly to pay tribute to the innocent civilians who lost their lives in the recent tragic incident at Pahalgam, Kashmir. On the auspicious occasion of the 78th Independence Day, Government Higher Secondary School Hari held a solemn and dignified celebration under the overall supervision of the *worthy Principal Sh. Rakesh Sharma* . The event was marked by the presence of esteemed guests, staff members, students, and local community members.The highlight of the ceremony was the hoisting of the national flag by Retired *Master Abdul Razaq Sb* a respected figure in the community and the father of Shaheed Abdul Latif, a brave constable of the Jammu and Kashmir Police who laid down his life in the line of duty. The act of hoisting the flag by the father of a martyred hero added profound significance to the event, reminding everyone of the sacrifices made for the freedom and security of the nation.
Despite the inclement weather, the students of Government HSS Hari displayed remarkable spirit and patriotism by participating in the march-past. The parade, held under a steady drizzle, was a testament to the students' dedication and enthusiasm. Their synchronized movements and disciplined demeanor showcased the values of unity, discipline, and respect for the nation.
