sugar mills started as a K.G School in 1986 with the sole objective of imparting education to the wards of sugar cane growers and employees of the mill to enable everyone to study and to bring out the best individuals and foster habits of a healthy rural life. Subsequently in the year 1992 the school was upgraded to the level of Primary School having standard every year and now the school was upgraded to Higher Secondary School level. appeared for Board exam in the academic year 2000 – 2001 and achieved 100% results. Taking into account, the Government of Puducherry was benevolent enough to sanction grant–in–aid to the PONCOS High School with effect from 01.02.2003. The strength of the students has been gradually increased in every academic year from 92–93 to 2012–13 from 93 to 1500 Nos respectively consisting of 40 sections. In view of the increase in standard as well as strength of students the Government of Puducherry having satisfied fully was kind enough to upgrade the school from the level of High School to Higher Secondary School during 2007 – 2008 academic year, this school has produced 100% results in HSC also.
