World Union is a movement, a wave, a voice, an urge in the world to foster in all people "the Consciousness of Oneness" of life and the essential unity of humanity.
Consciousness is not just an attribute of human awareness, but a universal phenomenon.
Consciousness is the substrate of all being, not limited to mental awareness but present in everything, even material existence.
Spiritual progress means the gradual awakening, purification, and higher development of consciousness, culminating in its supramental (beyond-mind) state.
This integral consciousness leads to a unity with all, compassion, and a transformation of life itself, not merely personal enlightenment.
Sri Aurobindo has written in his book called the Life Divine -
"It is through the growth of consciousness that the collective soul and its life can become aware of itself and develop; the free play of mind and life is essential for the growth of consciousness: for mind and life are the soul’s only instrumentation until a higher instrumentation develops..."
