Incredible Polasara

Polasara is a town of Ganjam in Odisha.Once upon a time there were a lot of villages around this place and this village was the best among all the villages.Hence the,local natives names it as PALLISARA.It means best among the PALLI(villages). Again,during the time of laying of foundation stone of Gopabandhu High School by His Hon'ble King of Khallikote Athagada Biruli Estate Sri Rama Chandra Mardharaj Deo, the potters of this village designed a pot with flowers and gave as a bouquet to the king.Impressed by the pottery skill,king gave the new name of this village as PHULASARA(PHULA-FLOWER and SARA-POT). With change of time and local use of word,the name changed from PHULASARA to POLASARA and in 1972, Government declared this village as N.A.C.This historical place had witnessed a lot of change in its infrastructure.This page is a glimpse of its beauty.
