Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune participated in Pulse 2026 at the Jio World Convention Centre with an exhibit focused on clinical skills and simulation-based learning.

The exhibit featured augmented and virtual reality, cardiopulmonary resuscitation training, mid-fidelity simulation and an intubation skills station.

The high level of visitor participation showed the value of practical demonstrations in explaining how technology and simulation are being used in medical education.

The institution’s contribution to the TB Aftermath Study, published in The Lancet Global Health, has received media coverage for its focus on what happens after tuberculosis treatment is completed.

Conducted in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University and India’s National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme, the study followed TB survivors and their household contacts across government TB clinics in Pune. It highlights the continued risk of recurrence after treatment completion and the importance of structured post-treatment screening through telephone-based and home-based follow-up.

The study also brings attention to long-term lung health after TB, reinforcing the need to view recovery beyond the completion of therapy.
