After the establishment of the regional center at Pilani, the students chapter at BITS-Pilani now comes under the IIChE Pilani regional center. A good number of students pursuing their studies in Chemical Engineering are now student members of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers. The primary objective of a Students’ Chapter is to promote Chemical Engineering among Students, a feeling of fratern
ity and brotherhood and to complement the objectives and activities of the Institute. It shall also provide all possible assistance to the Regional Centers in matters relating to Student Members. The Student Chapters guide its members in career choice and arrange lectures, seminars, technical events, plant visits, etc., at regular intervals . One of such popular seminar is SCHEMCON which is organized by one of the IIChE Student Chapters every year. The student's chapter of BITS Pilani successfully organized the SCHEMCON-2012.
