Following the heartbreaking Air India Flight AI171 tragedy on June 12, 2025, which occurred shortly after departure from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick, the BITS Pilani Students’ Union expresses its deepest condolences. On board were 242 passengers and crew, including 169 Indian nationals, 53 British nationals, 7 Portuguese nationals, and 1 Canadian national. Our thoughts are with the families, friends, and loved ones of those affected. We hope for the swift recovery of the injured and strength for everyone navigating this immense loss.

In such deeply difficult times, empathy, unity, and patience are vital. We urge the community to stay calm and resist the urge to believe or share unverified information.

Do not entirely rely on media speculation or social media narratives — Misinformation spreads easily in such times, always verify your sources and trust only official updates.

This incident is a painful reminder of life’s uncertainty. Let us use this moment to cherish our loved ones, support each other, and care for our mental and emotional well-being.

As a student body, we stand in unwavering support and solidarity. May resilience, clarity, and compassion guide us all.

Witnessing history, one byte at a time.
BITS Pilani had the incredible honor of hosting Richard Stallman — the legendary founder of the Free Software Movement and creator of the GNU Project.

From software freedom to digital ethics, his words weren’t just a talk — they were a call to action.
Gratitude to Stallman for challenging us to rethink technology, responsibility, and freedom in the digital age. 🖥️

Brought to you by the Students’ Union & SUMT.

🚨 CRC GUILTY 🚨
Looks like the CRC took “treat yourself” a bit too literally at Food Fest—they made their expenses vanish and even jacked up N2O prices! Apparently, even if you weren’t on campus, you still got charged for that extra waffle! 🤣💸
