BOSO (BSSS Old Students Organization) is the official Alumni Association of Birla Senior Secondary School (BSSS), Pilani, Rajasthan, India. BOSO is dedicated to lifelong growth and synthesis of a close-knit personal and professional fabric of its vast alumni. It intends to provide a platform for free exchange of ideas and opinions and to build resources to bring to its members the best of knowledg
e and ideas. To spur them to continue towards the path of self actualization, it intends to bring to each one of the member the finest social capital and support. The goal is to keep BSSS, Pilani alive, build a strong network among the alumni around the world and give back to the Alma Mater. This dedicated movement should influence the time to come in a positive and strong way by contribution and service. The school was started as PATHSHALA in 1901 by the Late Seth Shiv Narayanji Birla for the education of his grandsons Late Shri Ghanshyam Dasji Birla and Late Shri Rameshwar Dasji Birla. The school grew into an English Medium School in 1916, High School in 1925 and Intermediate College in 1928. The school was named as Birla High School (BHS) in 1943, Multipurpose Higher Secondary School in 1959, Birla Higher Secondary School (BHSS) in 1973 and Birla Senior Secondary School in 1977. The Birla College came into existence in 1943 when University classes were separated from the school. The School is managed and run by the Birla Education Trust (BET) Pilani
