Hi

I hope you had a fun time solving the ICPC Regionals, here is the rank-list and the number of teams from each college.

Unlike the ranklist published by codechef, this ranklist has team names and college names.

The Total no. of colleges with atleast one submission: 156

Hi All

We discussed the following two problems in the class on Grundy Numbers:
1. http://community.topcoder.com/stat?c=problem_statement&pm=13204
2. http://www.spoj.com/problems/MATGAME/

I hope you could find time to solve these, in case you haven't please give them a shot.
Anyway I have updated the solutions on the github repository for CPSIG.

Some Practice Problems related to Algorithm Games:
1. 1xn grid, place X or O, no 2 consecutive O's or X's. Each player can place either X or O. Player with no move loses.
2. http://www.spoj.com/problems/TRIOMINO/
3. http://community.topcoder.com/stat?c=problem_statement&pm=6239
4. http://www.codechef.com/SEP09/problems/G3/
5. http://www.spoj.com/problems/MMMGAME/
6. http://www.codechef.com/WPC1401/problems/IITK1P06/

PS: Many of the practice problems are difficult, feel free to discuss it on the CPSIG googlegroup or via mails.

As a part of the CPSIG lecture series there would be following two lectures:

1. Advanced Dynamic Problems by Akhilesh Anandh (Saturday, 13/9 @ 8 PM)
2. Greedy Strategies by Shruti Rijhwani (Sunday, 14/9 @ 8 PM)

The Sunday session would give you a clear picture on when and how to think greedy versus the DP approach, and would thus end DP and Greedy Algorithms. After which we ll post a large number of problems involving both these topics, before moving forward to Graph Theory after BOSM.

PS: Both these lectures would be in 5102.

With the success of last year CPSIG. We have decided to start a little early this year.
Our main motto is to promote coding culture in BITS and to increase participation in ACM ICPC. We are concerned mostly about competitive coding.
This year we have better plans:
(i) We will be providing modules this time. It will cover various topics related to competitive coding.
(ii) Will be discussing problems from various Online Judges. The problems will be put on .ahmed-aly.com
(iii) We have also thought of problem of the day and algorithm of the day. So we will be discussing a new challenging problem everyday.
(iv) We will keep you updated with the latest contest going on and about the registration date for them.
(v) Lectures from 5th,4th and 3rd yearites. All experienced seniors will guide you and tell you more about competitive coding.
(vi) Last but not least we have also thought of hosting regular contests on campus on our own judge. And obviously goodies for the winners.
And list will keep on increasing

Do join our facebook Group `CPSIG ` to keep yourself more updated:
