These were the jibes we were subjected to when we expressed an interest in establishing our University… My father ran a sweet shop and was the one who invented ‘motichoor laddoo’. I’d also go to the shop to help, but growing up, I diversified into an Automobile dealership… And when the thought of ‘what next’ came to mind, I thought of establishing a private professional higher education University in Punjab… Since there was no precedent, we had to fight hard, we even tried to pass a bill in the Assembly, but we were opposed vehemently… But eventually, the bill got the CM’s support—that’s how LPU came into being!”

CPE Club Dynamic Developer Vertos conducted an event Android Development Jumpstart The event offered advice to the students on effectively developing an application on the Android studio. Students got expert insights via Demonstrative Practical Learning showcased by the Resource Person.
The following discussion topics were pondered upon during the interaction in the form of a practical showcase-
1) What is the step-by-step development method and how can students easily use it to their advantage of application development?
2) Understanding the right coding techniques in Android studio?
3) What are the basics of JAVA needed to code in the Android studio?
4) How to create an app and submit it to the club for scrutiny to win a certificate of appreciation?

Centre for Professional Enhancement organised “Social Intelligence: A workshop on Communication Skills.” The workshop aimed at enhancing the communication skills of students to build-up social skills. It apprised the students on the importance of social networks and the role good communication skills plays to strengthen connectivity with people. A strong social network plays an important role in climbing the ladder of success and the participants were sensitized on the same.

The resource person was Ms. Gungeet Kaur from the team of Verbal Ability.

Dr. Sukhvinderjit Kaur Chopra from the team of Student Engagement coordinated the event.

Centre for Professional Enhancement conducted “Jobscan: A workshop on how to draft a cover letter”. The workshop emphasized on giving students a platform to enhance their written communication skills. This workshop enabled participants to understand the importance of cover letters in the hiring process and how to write an effective cover letter, which helped them to market their skills more effectively and boost their ability to grab a job.

Centre for Professional Enhancement conducted, "Decode & Conquer: A workshop on handling difficult situations". This workshop placed a major emphasis on developing techniques for dealing with disagreements in both personal and professional settings. The resource person also highlighted the importance of remaining positive and anticipating pleasant experiences even when meeting with people who have a history of challenging behaviour.

Centre for Professional Enhancement conducted “Mental Maths- A workshop based on mental ability.” The event emphasized on giving students a platform to discuss cognitive-ability based questions asked by tech giants in their placement drives. This event helped the students in sharpening their analytical skills as well as in learning the importance of shortcut techniques to solve mental-ability questions.

Centre for Professional Enhancement conducted, "A competition on blog writing". The competition enhanced their writing skills. To make them aware of blog writing, various topics were assigned like share business success stories of any business Man or woman, write about a goal you achieved and how you achieved it, write about a mistake you made and what you learned from it, predict how AI will effort different industries and lastly, list the must see attractions in a location. Blog Writing nowadays is important for Side Hustle and this event helped the students understand the process.

The resource person was Ms. Namrata Sethi, from the team of Verbal Ability accompanied by Ms. Hina Paul as judge.
